TaylorNation Posted March 25 Posted March 25 I wish her and the production and ounce of luck I still stand by my comment that this production is NOT Broadway ready, and I'm very curious to see how it will be received there (West End audiences are notorious for eating literally anything up while Broadway has a much higher taste level) we'll see I guess
vale9001 Posted March 25 Posted March 25 (edited) can't wait for Patti Lupone comment on this at the Andy Cohen show. Edited March 25 by vale9001

It's the fact that she IS in her prime, yet the industry cannot see past her age. And Nicole showcases that PHENOMENALLY. The things she does on that stage, from the vocals, to the acting, running up and down, dancing... Nicole is in TOP form. Edited March 25 by UnderratedVocalist 1

UnderratedVocalist Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Why are they releasing the album in October though and missing out on a possible Grammy nomination? The eligibility is until August 30th. A possible Grammy nomination/win could further draw attention to it, as it will be halfway through its run by January 2025. Unless they have plans for a movie/releasing it as a TV Special or sth and aiming for the next year's Grammys. Olivier Award in 2024 Tony Award in 2025 Grammy Award in 2026
chiliam Posted March 25 Posted March 25 I Nicole vs Lea Michele vs Amanda Seyfried at the Tony award next yeaf will be insane, the gays will be fighting left and right.

Nicole is going to be 46 in June; Gloria Swanson was 50 when she first played the role in the 1950 original, and most actresses who played the role have been around the same age, though a few have been considerably older and also considerably younger. I think Nicole looks a little too glamorous for that role, from the clips I've seen of it, but maybe it doesn't bother other people nearly as much. 1

It's very stripped back and borrows from Nicole's own personal story. They are highlighting the fact that, it's not that Norma has lost her beauty and glamour. Norma is not past her prime. She is IN her prime. But the industry can't see past her age, even if she can do everything exactly as she did back when she was 'famous', some even better. That's way more impactful and tragic and makes the ending and her descent to madness way more relatable and impactful. Y'all gotta watch it to get it. Edited March 26 by UnderratedVocalist 1

It justifies her getting cast in the role far more. 2

Who can we contact to have the album released earlier? Isn't it available for pre-order now? By modern standards, isn't Nicole considered an old, over-the-hill, desperate, flop has-been also? That seems to be popular criticism even on ATRL.
