Suilen Posted March 25 Posted March 25 Looking at the photos of the suspects from the court hearing, it seems obvious that they were tortured. That's not exactly news as even peaceful protesters were beaten up (and threatened with sexual assault) in the past but the severity and the flagrancy of it are unprecedented. There are also talks of reinstating the death penalty on the heels of the tragedy, which doesn't bode well as anyone inconvenient can be labeled a terrorist and given a death sentence.

Pro-torture officials have fought against us to keep Guantanamo open, and they're the ones who have all the power. Liberals like Biden and Obama "wanted" to close it, but they didn't want it badly enough to overcome the unelected state officials' desires, so that was another promise left unfulfilled.
