Melancholy Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 (edited) She shaved her head for charity in 2013 before her second album came out and started to flop when she was on track to become the next Mariah/Whitney She went from having classics and hits during her debut era (Price Tag, Do It Like a Dude, Domino) to having absolute FLOPS during Alive era, were people turned away by this: the same way they were by this: ? BrandNewBrandon Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 Jessie J. was never a MPG and I think she'd flop regardless of her haircut.
Thesedays Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 Her career never happened outside the UK. In the UK, especially during her peak, anyone who had a good P.R. team and catchy tunes could have a hit. But, when you had nothing else to offer, the public would move on quickly. And that's what happened to her. Had **** to do with the haircut.
Jooj Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 She had one huge era in the UK with Who You Are but that album did just okay everywhere else. Domino and Price Tag were the only global hits. Alive had a terrible rollout and it didnt even get released in the US. Wild was a cute hit in some countries and Its My Party went top 3 in the UK but that's it. Excuse My Rude and Sexy Lady couldve done something as singles but the era got cut short. What killed her career was the Sweet Talker era. She was already struggling in the UK and for some reason they focused every single resource she had going on in the US which was never gonna work aside from Bang Bang. 3 1
Burn Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 She was NEVER on track to become the new Whitney or Mariah plsss she was hardly on track to become the next Leona Lewis.

"I have a different respect now for people who don't have legs." "Just after I broke my foot, I was in the living room and I put on Beyoncé's Save the Hero," she continues, "like, 'If I'm not around, who saves the superhero?'" The interviewer smartly quelled the desire to point out that the world seemed to somehow struggle on in the face of the apocalyptic event that was Jessie J breaking her foot, and simply let her keep talking: "You give so much as an artist, you give, you give, you give. I break my foot and I've got fans going, 'I've got a tummy ache, can I get a re-tweet?' People think you go to a special hospital, get special casts and treatment. It's like, 'No, I'm the same as everyone else,' and that was the moment when I had a proper good cry." 7

James_Joint Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 I don't think her hair was “liked" even back when she had the little success that she's had, so no.
Tudors Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 Kerri Russle started the trend. Her haircut is famous. No one knows the one you are talking about tbh

UnusualBoy Posted March 21, 2024 Posted March 21, 2024 She just followed the same path of most of the British girls after their debut era. I don't think the hair had anything to do with it. 1
