Camila Cabello - 'C,XOXO'

This is one of my favorite albums of the year so far and I'm so sad it bombed. There are some duds but the highs are really high and I love that she tapped into a new side artistically. #JusticeForILUVIT

I need Godspeed so bad, I wish I had never heard that snippet

I know, that sounded so interesting, it better be on the deluxe

OOT

Camila 3rd movie #ROBPEACE will be here August 16, u think its coming before C,XOXO P.S.?

I hope everyone sees this, I watched it on the Sundance festival site when it aired there and it's a really good movie, great story about a man with an extraordinary mind. Camila's part is small but she did well playing Naya

I hope that the critics aren't going to stop her from continuing to explore this hip-hop/urban sound more... I think it suits her very well and she has always dabbled in it anyways. I don't think the change in sound was the problem, but rather the huge image change itself with the blonde hair and idc attitude. I think if she kept her black hair it would have helped make the transition a bit easier for the gp. I agree with Pitchfork actually that this was a transition album, not a statement. I REALLY hope Interscope doesn't force her to go back to her old sound after the album bombed... it seems like she finally found herself sonically.

They sent Hot Uptown to radio so obviously that seems to be their focus for at least the summer and what they hoped would blow up... maybe she has no budget left for a music video after using it for He Knows + Chanel No.5? I can't imagine Drake saying no after how supportive he was towards her recently

It did bomb - numbers wise. However, I do think more people liked this than Familia. More people will be tuned in for the next album if she plays her cards right.

They should have just sent I Luv It to radio when Drake delayed her 2nd release and made it the official single until Drake was ready to commit to a proper rollout for Hot Uptown. Then, let that be the summer single with a 2nd high budget music video, then release Chanel No.5 as buzz single before releasing the album in August/early September so they could push it hard at the VMAs. He Knows as a single should have NEVER happened. Also, the album would still be fresh in people's minds in time for the Grammy campaigns.

I need a documentary about the making of this album because what was their actual plan? No promo in sight, practically leaking all the songs (live and at listening parties) before the release, and then silence once the album's out? This album didn't deserve this.

Then teasing songs that we won't get to hear anytime soon? (Or will we?)

I fear it's been scrapped. She did the same with Familia, teased a tour prior to the album release and then *crickets* once the album came out.

I think the original concept of releasing ILI as a buzz single worked perfectly. The GP were actually praising her for once.

Then BRAT happened & the Charli stans went berserk, as usual. Normani's odd tactic to release the same week as Camila meant we lost the Fallon promo on the 14th of June, because C then delayed. And Drake/Kendrick ruined the plans for the first official single.

As usual in Camila's eras, so many wrong decision in wrong time

is the deluxe actually confirmed or is it all just rumours?

I think she will have to tour? I mean, at least it will make them *some* good ROI this era? Or did it just turn profitable from the one Bacardi partnership LOL

The fact they basically planned this whole era around having a hit bc of the drake collab… obviously the beef with Kendrick was not planned lol but just goes to show they did NOT have a backup plan, at all. And it's sad because this is a great album (minus the interludes).

After Havana, they always planned the eras around a huge collaboration (Senorita, Bam Bam). Hot Uptown w/ Drake was gonna be the one for this album. Hopefully, they learned the hard way this time that you can't always depend on a big name to push a whole ALBUM..

I'm so sad this era flopped but I don't find it shocking. The album feels disjointed and her new image seems forced... The lyrics, except for B.O.A.T, seem like a regression in her lyric writing. It also didn't help they lost the momentum with delaying the album and teasing the era so early. I know Familia didn't do that good, but I wish she would've continued building up that sound.
