mrmayman Posted March 19 Posted March 19 It's fake. "A Luminate spokesperson said: “Due to an unfortunate miscommunication, the information regarding the data referred to in this announcement's eligibility for the Billboard Charts is false."" https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/universal-republic-launch-boombox-music-player-on-roblox-and-all-streamed-tracks-will-count-towards-billboard-charts123/ 1 2

And the new age stans have the nerve to compare numbers from now to even 10 years ago. everything is massively inflated
May Posted March 19 Posted March 19 does this mean that ‘it's raining tacos' song is about to shoot up the charts?

Phaunzie Posted March 19 Posted March 19 The Power Ava is about to showcase. Her Roblox could mean everything. A trendsetter, a virtual legend, only Madame Max.
thequeenofpopmadonna Posted March 19 Posted March 19 (edited) Billboard is hideous and desperately cheap. Became such a joke. Edited March 19 by thequeenofpopmadonna

Not only is it counting towards their chart performance but it's counting towards their total sales as well. Acts from pre-streaming had only album or single purchases counted, nowadays it's basically how many times your song has been heard outside from being purchased. Edited March 20 by BrandNewBrandon

Yeah it makes no sense that when you heard an album for like a decade until you broke it, it counted as a single unit sold...but now every single time you hear one song from one album, it counts for that album's "sales"

It's too apples and oranges.
