SamanthaJadeFr Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I hate when people want to force other people to speak about what could be a trauma. Let people speak when they feel like it not when you think they should. 7
Bussea Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) leave her alone I hate this whole "you need to speak out" bs everyone keeps trying to pull every time something happens. Ariana was a victim of the abuse too. we saw what she was made to do on camera, so imagine what happened behind the scenes. imagine wanting someone to relive their trauma. people like this don't care about the victims they just care about pointing fingers and the spectacle of it all. she doesn't owe you ****. PrettyHurts Posted March 24 Posted March 24 sunny is so insuffrable i knew it was her before opening 2 2
Archetype Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Ariana is one of the few child actors from her generation who didn't end up severely messed up, and as great as she is, I think her supportive family had more to with that and being protective than anything else. She was likely shielded from a lot of that, or she luckily wasn't around it. Regardless, she has no obligation to speak up, but I'm sure she is supportive of those who are. 1
crf13 Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Is there ever an episode where Sunny's not embarrassing herself? 2 1 1
Twizzy Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) This narrative people on Twitter and now unknown talk show hosts are trying to push on Ariana, that she's selfish for not speaking out, is disgusting. Victims do not owe the world an explanation on anything if they don't want to speak out. Why isn't Miranda Cosgrove getting pressed on this, considering she worked first-hand on a reboot for iCarly with Dan? And presumably, since Nickelodeon tried to make Jennette sign an NDA, then they sure as hell borderline forced Ariana to sign one as well, or else her music career would have been unplugged quick by executives. Gossip_Boy Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Why not focus on the people who HAVE spoken up and getting them the justice they deserve instead of turning this whole thing into a stupid witch-hunt for the ones that haven't come forward? (and were children at the time). Victims shouldn't be forced to talk about their experiences if they don't want to. 1 7

cuteboyzay Posted March 24 Posted March 24 (edited) Forcing possible victims of any type of abuse to speak up because YOU think they should is dense AFFF! I swear The View genuinely is such an embarrassment. Edited March 24 by cuteboyzay 1

No one owes anyone the sharing of their traumatic experiences. Ari NEVER talks about her Nickelodeon days. So why should she weigh in on something she wasn’t a part of (ie the assault on Drake Bell happened a decade before she was even on the network) or feel the need to discuss something that may or may not have made her uncomfortable. 4
Popular Post Twizzy Posted March 24 Popular Post Posted March 24 There is undeniably an entire web of intertwined predators between the entertainment and music industry, and they've all been protected by another huge web of company presidents and executives who all obviously can easily avoid repercussions because they're all also protected by some powerful agency. I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist but these rumors have been circling around Nickelodeon since the mid 2000's and kept getting swept under the rug, many child stars have been defamed as crazed crackheads for 20+ years, it's not a coincidence. All of these abusers can easily fly out to another country and find shelter away from their convictions… 34 3
makeme Posted March 24 Posted March 24 This is disgusting. Leave the victims alone harass the predators! 3
Cheers Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I don't trust any company that caters to directly children anymore I need Blippy, Disney, and PinkFong investigated next 1
KatyPrismSpirit Posted March 24 Posted March 24 WTF I watched Quiet on Set recently but this is a new low 1
ATRL Moderator MissedTheTrain Posted March 24 ATRL Moderator Posted March 24 This is insane. If Jeanette was open about being a victim of that kind of behavior on set...Ariana likely was too, and she is not obligated to make a public announcement with it. 2
