Bhabylon Posted March 17 Posted March 17 I feel like the branding is a huge turn off Like imagine if the other pop girl lines were called Selena Gomez Beauty, Ariana Grande Beauty, Lady Gaga Beauty You can't rely on your name itself to carry the brand. Focus on the actual product, give it a proper brand name 6
Kodak Energy Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Even though it got closed, I’m sure she still made tens of millions from it. I feel sorry for all the people working on it who lost their jobs though. When you reach a certain status, it doesn’t matter if your brands fail. You still make money from them. We really need more progressive governments and less rules for businesses to avoid taxes and individuals to avoid accountability . 1
suburbannature Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) ok wait I feel bad now she's going to take it out on the poor retail workers again. Edited March 17 by suburbannature
sweetkiss Posted March 17 Posted March 17 it is still on the website? oh.. i feel this is going to happen from the start. i was disappointed at the brand as jlo fan. first of all the name, as someone on here said, also the packaging, it is not as luxurious nor glam as Jlo herself, products were outrageously priced at first (over 100$ dollars at first, now around 60$ which is still crazy). products don't do anything special (especially not for the price, but even if its 15$ is not good enough). if you want to tighten the booty you can buy jergens for 8$ problem is her demographic as well, people her age and her fans already know all these tricks and we know we don't need 100$ for niacinamide why rare beauty is so successful is because her products are seriously superior to what is on the market (not the eyeshadows, but products that people rebuy all the time like eyebrow pencil) and seriously cheap for the quality you are receiving. like 15-20$.
Mocha Posted March 17 Posted March 17 not eveyone can be a bussy soap entrepreneur like miss azalea banks 1 5
imabadkid Posted March 17 Posted March 17 oh wow... I watched her doc and it was so good. She seems personally to be in a good place, a place of self love. I hate that professionally things don't seem as well.
MonsterConnor Posted March 17 Posted March 17 I tried her Jlo Beauty "That Jlo Glow Serum" and it made my cheeks break out. It's supposed to be packed with great ingredients like Niacinamide, but my dermatologist husband looked up her ingredients and said her products are trash. :x
DuffStan Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Oh, I thought the brand was doing alright. People had a problem with its name? Had no idea either.

Dolce Vita Posted March 17 Posted March 17 the marketing was really bad. i don’t think her brand works to sell something like skincare to people, no shade bc she’s beautiful ofc but those of us that are into skincare wouldn’t use 90% of celebrity skincare lines anyways and i’m pretty sure jlo wouldn’t even use that ****
FOCK Posted March 17 Posted March 17 (edited) This recent string of unfortunate events probably reminds her of being 16 in the Bronx, running up and down the block. Edited March 17 by FOCK 9
