Joyride Posted March 16 Posted March 16 after chatting with Cyn, who is signed to Katy's label she revealed to me in a candid tweet that finding management to keep her career going has been hard. let's help Cyn turn this situation around. it's quite sad. she hasn't been able to release her album in years. 1
Popular Post Specter Posted March 16 Popular Post Posted March 16 I am not familiar with her but I wish her the best. Though I imagine being Katy's protege is a bit like being Azealia Banks' favorite therapist — sometimes the association isn't really all that helpful 1 26
Dragonfly Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I wish her the best. She truly has a lot of potential: I'll Still Have Me, Holy Roller, Drinks, the Kiss Me cover
Galah Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I feel bad for the girl but iirc most KatyCats don't like her that much because Katy seemed to spend more time promoting her during 2017-2020 than working on her own image issues, and post-Witness we ended up with Smile... Honestly it seems like CYN would be better off independent in this situation. Being associated with Katy hasn't really done anything positive for her career in the long run.
Mordecai Posted March 16 Posted March 16 I really liked Cyn's earlier output. Believer was one of my most listened to songs the year it was released Idk why people are so hesitant to let artists release albums nowadays. With the amount of songs she's released over the years she's had enough for one, maybe two albums
Smarticle Posted March 16 Posted March 16 It's ok as long as Katy gets her $25 million American Idol cheque
Zeferino Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Wasn’t Ferras her protégé as well? Where’s that one? and knowing French it irks me there’s a missing “e” in the title 1
DoubleRainbow! Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Then just leave? Katy has promoted her music more than her own and it just can’t take off
Dolce Vita Posted March 17 Posted March 17 my theory is that most big artists who have “protégés” reach a plateau in their careers and so they endorse these small artists as mini ‘projects’ to develop in between eras until they get bored or they’re not profitable enough so they leave them to rot in contracts until they get dropped esme dentures comes to mind

mrpartyrocker Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Some musicians just don’t make it and it’s how it goes. It’s unfair especially as there’s probably thousands of people more talented than our faves, but if a label cannot make a business out of your career why would they invest? i wish her the best, but complaining about it while you refuse to step out of your comfort zone doesn’t help you either.
Apostolis Posted March 17 Posted March 17 she hasn't released an album yet?? kinda gagged I was listening to her like 5-6 years ago but I never clocked that.. her music was also quite good I'd say

Scandalous Posted March 17 Posted March 17 she had a few good songs when she started but yeah the promo was never there aside from her songs being occasionally used in tv shows. i completely forgot about her she’s been at it for a long time, it’s a shame katy wasn’t able to make anything ever materialize for her career but also the quality of her music was hit and miss. she also needs to calm down and stop shading other pop girls on twitter
AvadaKedavra Posted March 17 Posted March 17 She's really talented but for Pop girls to rise to mainstream stardom its honestly a challengue today. I think she could have a small but loyal fanbase if she releases her album-music Is the record label keeping her trapped in the contract? Why isn't she releasing music? Is Kat and Perry being held captive? How can she break free? It seems unfair. FreeCyn
Laura Palmer Posted March 17 Posted March 17 She’s released a a cute song or two but music has never really seemed like her main focus
