Scream 7 | Neve Campbell | Kevin Williamson to direct

I thought 5+6 were reall great and felt fresh for the franchise. I really like how Sam was villainized and is not painted as a hero like Sidney. I liked how the tonality was moving away from movies and went to psycho killers and Sam questioning herself over her father.

I always loved scream and will give 7 a chance. But leaving Sidney behind was a good thing story wise. Idk about Kevin being a director but he always had great ideas for the franchise so let's hope that he has something up his sleeves to give the story surrounding Sidney a new spin.

They better not just copy the new Halloween movies.

Jenna and Melissa really did breathe new life into this franchise and I say this as an OG Scream fan. I'm not sure what more Neve can bring to the story. It's a shame what's happened.

Yes, Leslie Grossman!! It'll be another Parker Posey moment, I've been binging American Horror Story and I'm just so happy Ryan got her in the fold. She's hilarious!!

Take this with a grain of salt but some pretty reputable insiders (same ones who leaked various tea about VI prior to production) have dropped some names in regards to who might be in it:

  • Keri Russell (as stated in this thread)
  • Leslie Grossman (Meadow/Coco/Margaret/Ashleigh from AHS)
  • Zión Moreno (Luna from the Gossip Girl reboot)
  • Gale Harold (Brian Kinney from Queer As Folk/Jackson from Desperate Housewives - he also coincidentally worked with Kevin Williamson on The Secret Circle and screen tested for Wayne Bailey)
  • Kailey Hyman (Brooke from Terrifier 2)
  • Milo Manheim (Ryan from Thanksgiving)

I've been told Judy Greer was supposed to take on a pivotal main role but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts. I really hope the Gale rumors are true! I'm a big fan of his.

What are Gale rumours?

All these i couldn't agree more

Jenna and Melissa really revived a concept that was dead for years and i will be forever grateful to them

But on the other side idk what else they ( or the twins :rip:) could bring in another movie . I prefer to have 2 PERFECT movies with the sisters than get a 3rd that could be a letdown

It's going to be a mess.

Melissa's character being related to one of the villains was absolutely genius. That was the kind of new life Scream needed. I love Neve but this feels like a dead franchise to me now.

Leslie would fit in as a campy character like Ms. Jolie.

Would prefer Keri not to be in this. Her acting in Cocaine Bear was awful :rip:

I really hope they take a different approach. It's funny to me that the original's are always considered the classics while the sequels never amount.

IMO less kills and more suspense leading up to the character's demise. They just add 20 new characters to the sequel so they can die with 5 minutes of screen time, it's hard to develop an emotional connection or for them to have character development.

It's cool that they're potentially casting older adults, it would be interesting to see a slasher that doesn't focus on teens.

But what can Neve bring to Scream after her last 5 movies?

I'm really hoping, with the slimmest chance, that they bring Jenna and Melissa back in some small capacity at least cuz :rip:

no way in hell, Spyglass is run by staunch zionists and both Jenna and especially Melissa have made their stances on the genocide clear.
