You’re gonna have so much fun watching it in 4DX! It was an experience.

Is it just me or is ***** Ulrich's name censored?

I wanted to love this as much as everybody else, I love all the Screams in their own way but this one had some glaring issues to me. Melissa is definitely the MVP tho, I couldn't stand her in 5 and she stepped it up big time.

- It easily felt like the least self-aware Scream movie. They've always been so good at balancing camp and horror, but a lot of the camp in this one felt sloppy and veered into cheesy.

- NYC was underutilized and it was glaringly obvious that many of the scenes weren't filmed in the city to the point that I was taken out of it a few times. The two most significant "NYC moments" were the subway and the bodega scenes, and they gave too much of them away in the trailers.

- WTF was up with people getting up and running around 5 minutes after being gutted multiple times by Ghostface? Definitely cheapened the stakes for me.

- Someone in the core four should've died, it made no sense at all for Chad to pull through after all *that.* See above about cheapening the stakes

All that said, it's still an undeniably fun time, I just found myself distracted by everything above

Spoiler

They have been getting stabbed for God knows how long. From

at least scream 4 they have been eating stabs like it’s nothing. Gale was shot in the last movie and still able to kill Tara. In fact, Gale has been getting shot since at least the second movie.

At this point it’s best to just assume everyone is made out of teflon or adrenaline is keeping them going because if you don’t, you’ll get completely knocked out of the experience.

That said, this scream was by far my favorite since 2. Nonstop pacing, the best set pieces since the first movie + They did the unthinkable and managed to replace Sidney with viable final girls.

Watching the Collider spoiler interview, its clear the directors are too ***** to kill off any of the four :rip:

LIke come on — you can't make a point of "anyone is fair game!!" in one minute and then backtrack that point by the end of the film

If they all survive the next one :biblio:

It's not like Craven and Williamson had any balls either they were too afraid of killing off the trio until RS did Dewey in 5

I mean… Randy died in the 2nd :rip:

Enjoyed this film way better than the 5th film but it felt like i was watching a cartoon.

That’s how ridiculous and unrealistic this film was.

I remember the first two films having realistic kills and it felt like everything that happened could actually happen to you.

I think the subway scene was just dumb.

and Craven & Williamson later regretted that decision hence the major plot armor with the Trio in 3 and 4

We're all adults here aren't we? Seriously censoring an actor's first name cause of it being another word for ejaculation?

You said that 6 was like watching a cartoon when 3 was more like that.

Yeah that interview left a horrible taste in my mouth. Especially when

two of the four truly have made no impact on the series and are as expendable as new actors in every film.

Some characters just don’t have an impact and that’s ok.

i really love Chad’s character and more Mason is always good but he should’ve died. HE WAS BLEEDING OUT OF HIS MOUTH!

This is exactly how I feel. Like it has good moments, but so many stupid flaws that come from bad directing and scripts. It's not even nit-picking, since it's prevalent throughout the entire film.

The film isn't as grounded and is pretty much delving into fantasy.

The only problem i have is that Chad survived, but that's obviously a homage to Dewey. And we don't actually see all of the stab wounds or where he got stabbed. And people can survive, even if blood comes out of their mouth.

Gale was stabbed exactly where she was already stabbed and shot before, except for the glas wound. Same for Kirby. And it's also possible to survive Mindy's stab wound.

Internal organs.png

Gale's glas stab wound might damaged her kidney, but that's probably it. All the other stab wounds probably only damaged the intestines, which only leaves the blood loss and if they didn't hit a major artery, they should be "fine".

Spoiler

I don't have problem with people surviving stab wounds, but I hate how they moved normally after being stabbed, thrown around the room, etc... That's my biggest flaw of the movie :biblio:
