We know some of you don't wanna see her win, but come on, all of you just wanna drag anything at this point. this they are doing the most
EliteNaviShit Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Houdini is the absolute best song she's ever recorded. I'm drunk asf and it's HITTING HARD. And I've already been playing it almost consistently since it's release. Like she did her THANGGGG 4
ChrisTheLoner Posted May 11 Posted May 11 A #1 debut in the UK and #2 on lock in the US!? We won yall, never underestimate the power of DUALLAH 7 1
Relampago. Posted May 11 Posted May 11 The meltdowns over the Warner interview nn I'm sure they're actually pleasantly surprised that she exceeded FN's debuts without anywhere near as big of a campaign and without mega smash hit. She's essentially conquered her biggest critique that she doesn't have a fanbase… they're carrying this album. She did it. She won. Feel how you want about the music, but even though this won't end up a FN sized era, she's kinda shown that she's not going anywhere this time around. Once the tour sells out, it'll just be further confirmation that Dua is one of the biggest new pop girls and a mainstay in the pop realm. 11
BrokenMachine Posted May 11 Posted May 11 I was just thinking how the Illusion MV concept would have fitted into Training Season. Can't believe they decided to make such a mid video instead 1

Ivan_brit Posted May 11 Posted May 11 The way we outsold Doja Cat, Lizzo, Megan Thee Stallion, Tate & Lorre without a big hit (Houdini did fine) Now let's root for Longetivity 4 2
DoubleRainbow! Posted May 11 Posted May 11 The vinyl sales are a good sign cuz that means the fanbase actually grew a little Imagine the numbers if we had a smash hit 2

holyground13 Posted May 11 Posted May 11 She definitely has a solid fanbase I think: I've seen the Dua gays and girls on Tik Tok. She's the only big artist creating carefree and fun dance-pop songs with pretty visuals. Essentially she's the Britney / Rihanna / Kylie of her generation and is similar to Gaga, Madonna, Janet, Katy etc. She also gives consistent quality which keeps people being fans. 4
Relampago. Posted May 11 Posted May 11 I admire her dedication to allyship but you've given the gays enough mama, give the GeePee something to stan next time around, gays will be the death of you
Relampago. Posted May 11 Posted May 11 We needed Dua's melodies and vocals over this production. It's true 1

Relampago. Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Okay, I kinda thought this was a Spotify glitch earlier on in the era but every time there's a new single/album release from Dua this era, Spotify will automatically start playing a Radical Optimism track every time I open the app, even if another song was playing before I'm sure it's just a glitch cause I've been listening to the album on repeat but..
Relampago. Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Like.. next they're gonna "leak" that they threw DTN on the deluxe, as if that would be anywhere near a surprise
Mark Rih Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Even tho I feel like longevity will remain a problem this time around, the debuts truly ATE. The fact she did this with no hits and the timing was bad too.. if released in like February/March it would've gone #1 in way more countries and maybe even in the US. 1
Mark Rih Posted May 11 Posted May 11 Also with debuts like these ones this era officially can't be labeled as a flop. We're so back besties 3
Crank_It_Up Posted May 11 Posted May 11 (edited) I'm genuinely thrilled Dua went way above the estimated 55-65k in the US! 83k is fantastic and proves that she somewhat has build a fanbase even if the era has been mismanaged from the start and there aren't any major hit. This also shows that Dua is definitely here to STAY. The haters need to start shutting up because she isn't going anywhere! Imagine if she had a legitimate hit, it could've done 100k. Thrilled for Dua (and us)! Edited May 11 by Crank_It_Up 4
Karla Cabello Posted May 11 Posted May 11 i kinda hated this record on first listen but it has been growing on me a lot. im glad she's not flopping bc this is her best album
