Illusion is like SOTY but where are the adlibs or like anything to differentiate choruses from one another? They're all the same :suburban: the production on these pop songs is so… anti-pop and that's the main reason it's not working

Agree, other than the high note on the "illuuuUUUUUuu" toward the end--that's what I loved about Ian Kirkpatrick's production on FN, each chorus added something new and addictive like the cowbell on Pretty Please.  Also why I much prefer the extended mix of Illusion!

The high note in question being the vocals getting chopped for a sec for the transition to the chorus repetition :suburban: we living on crumbs

Been so obsessed with These Walls, French Exit, Illusion, Falling Forever, and Maria. :jamming::jamming::jamming:

I almost wish Falling Forever didn't have a chorus outside of the production and "HOW LOOOOOOOOONG" because the part after that kinda slows the song down a bit. The rest of the song is literally perfect.

I'll also never forgive the US GeePee for letting GODini not go top 10 and sit there for 25 weeks. The fact Levitating is the only song she's ever done that's seeing it is insane.

It hasn't aged even one bit, and has literally only gotten better with time. A PERFECT pop song.

The physical sales are kind of great (for her), if this rollout wasn't horribly mismanaged and botched by her dad who knows, she could've crossed 100k total

Unfortunately it was tho

This is exactly what's missing with Illusion. We need dynamics. Give us some adlibs or some harmonization. The production just sounds lazy and monotonous.

Yall are ******* weird and thank god aren't actually managing Dua cause ya would be sabotaging her

She just need to be performing these songs live on big award show platforms to give them visibility that they deserve

No they're not y'all are just chart obsessed and being dramatic

Happy For You is her Gwen Stefani "Cool"/ Katy Perry "The One That Got Away" she needs to release a dramatic video and tug at heartstrings asap

After that drop a new single with the deluxe and tour missy!

Drop another Calvin Harris banger before starting your next era Dua!

She needs an Anwar Hadid look alike for controversy

It's wild to me. It's basic common sense, like a give-in in pop music "theory". Idk how the production and vocals missed the mark so awfully there.

EOAE - nothing

H - belting in breakdown but way too muted

TS - nothing

TW - one minor BG vocal added

WD - nothing

FE - very minor BG vocal added(?)

I - one minor "riff" (please)

FF - best example where each chorus adds new vocal elements (listen to the godly Acapella!) But it's a little too quiet in the mix to tell easily

AFL - nothing (tho at least this song has a clear build in production)

M - nothing except the high note in the first "Maria!" Of last chorus

HFY - one quiet harmony added in last chorus, but something like the live SNL vocalists would have been amazing

We need belting, harmonies, different vocal takes, SOMEthing. Her absolute refusal to do it is just insane lmao
