hindsight Posted March 9 Posted March 9 I don't get why people are still blaming these girls for how things went so wrong with this group... they were all kids when they were put together and most of the mess happened when they were still really young it's the music industry, the adults around them who should be blamed. If they were serious about making this group work, their label and their team would never favor Camila so much, especially when Lauren and Normani also had potential to be stars and help boost the group's popularity even more. Camila was the quirky relatable girl with the unique voice, Lauren the edgy hot one with the dark tone, and Normani was gorgeous and great on stage even if her vocal tone was not that memorable... Like, they could've given all these girls time to shine, better music after the first album which was cute, so they wouldn't hate each other as much or feel like they had to fight each other for lines when they didn't have any control over that. Dinah was good as well and probably would improve with time and get more fans. Ally should've never joined the group tho, she was a good singer but older than the other girls and she just looked so off, her dancing skills made her stand out in a bad way and her vibe just didn't fit this group imo. I've never been a fan of theirs but I think if they had a good team thinks could've worked wayyy better, because they were talented and different from each other in a good way, and they could've all decided to part ways without all the mess and after the group was in a good position with more hits. Their contracts were awful as well, they were overworked and underpaid, with people around them wanting to favor only their favorite member instead of making them work as a group first, there's no way things could've gone well that way lol 2

Till this day people are clowning for pushing Ty Dolla please She didn’t work harder than the girls she was just more privileged and got more opportunities. Dinah is the better performer and singer, Normani the better dancer but they were far away from Camila, only Lauren could match Camila in term of popularity but she never cared about success. Lauren was only popular due to being tied as Camila’s lover. Lauren also released solo music in 5H but it flopped it’s not Camila’s fault everyone chose bad things over strangers! 1

She fought for more lines and jumped in relationships that could be good for her (Taylor, Selena, Shawn...) while the others were doing nothing for it. A business woman

Camila left when the interest in the group was much higher, and she was supported throughout the tenure of fifth harmony too, got her own separate management from the four girls, and wasn’t stopped from pursuing solo stuff and deals while within the group as well. it’s no surprise that she already garnered somewhat of a fanbase. The other girls simply didn’t have all the privileges and headstarts in comparison. The time when they finally went solo was when the group had already lost the gp’s interest. Yes Normani had more interest than the other girls but we should also see how she had the industry backing her up too as the “next Beyoncé” (in other words, the next token black female popstar), plus she did have some high profile collabs. So it’s all based on circumstances. The damn excuses Your entire narrative was dismissed the minute you acknowledged Normani still made it bigger than the other girls despite being "sidelined" in the group. Perhaps Normani got more support and more opportunities because she had more potential, something the industry didn't see in the other girls? Didn't Ally have a Tyga feature on her debut single as well? Didn't Dinah have famous rappers on her debut as well? lol. Edited March 11 by Robyn.
Lost In Paradise Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Ally could scream out high notes but that didn't make her a good vocalist Dinah had her unique lower register but outside of that she was boring Normani ... well Motivation was a GREAT song that's al I'm gonna say there Lauren clearly struggled with self-love and wasn't quite ready to be a star yet Camila was the only one that was a ready-to-go, marketable star from the beginning

Are you capable? my whole essay was about Camila being favored over the other girls while WITHIN the group, and that includes Normani who WAS sidelined compared to Camila. I didn’t say **** about their solo careers or how successful they got after the group disbanded. That’s an entirely different discussion and has its own factors and circumstances that I won’t get into here. Sorry y’all won’t rewrite history today because if you followed the group during their time, you would know what I’m talking about as a lot of other people apparently do.

Facelessboy Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Camilla was always jealous of the other girls you can see it in the interviews. I believe she did some shady industry things behind the scenes to beep over the other girls solo work. Nobody wanted to work with the girls after Camilla went solo that isn’t by chance. Her & her team had the girls band from radio etc very messy girl.

They (meaning the team) could have definitely made the girls work together without any tension or competition between them by using all their strengths properly. All 5 of them were different from each other but that was a blessing if the team knew how to leverage those differences in the group positively and equally. There was no reason for the messiness and unfairness that went on (other than to fill the executives’ pockets ofc). It’s tragic to think what the group could have become. 1
