Cameltoe Chariot Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Boo at the higher price, but it's always great to see new plant based options on the market! 2 1
GraceRandolph Posted March 6 Posted March 6 It seems like a big shift has happened over the last decade. Almost every restaurant carries a vegan dish, and plant based alternatives are becoming more and more common. This is so great to see. 2

It's sad that it's always the thing that is supposed to be the healthier alternative, that is priced higher. They really want us nice, fat and unhealthy so big pharma can continue to ream us. 2

Yeah the higher price always annoys me, especially when stuff that is vegan by accident is always way cheaper than its non vegan counterpart. Fortunately a grocery chain near me does 50% off sales on certain products every week so I can usually get plant based substitutes for way cheaper than they usually are. 2
Oktober Knight Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Finally! I'm glad NA is getting more and more veggie options like the rest of the world. I'm waiting for Republicans to have a meltdown when they accidentally buy the wrong product. 1
naevis Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Gross. I'm an ex-vegan of 7 years so I know it's full of crap 1 1 3
Reginald Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I would try these. I'm neither vegan or vegetarian, but hot dogs/sausages are just gross
The Man Who Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I've tried the plant-based hot dogs from Moving Mountains before and I liked them. If they sell these in the UK, I'll give them a try.

I'm an ex-vegan of 7 years so I know it's full of crap As opposed to the regular hot dogs made with a beige paste comprised of blended leftover trimmings of cows, pigs, chickens and turkeys thats then pumped and shaped into casing? I'm not even vegetarian (I eat pescatarian if we want to get technical) but the way people come for vegan products as being "full of crap" is so f*cking bizarre, since the meat alternatives are far more disgusting. If you're concerned about preservatives and additives, this is not a unique issue that only applies to plant based offerings. 1
Navyboy20 Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Not too big of a stretch for them since what they were selling was barley eligible to be considered "meat" Quote Hot dog production is a highly industrialized process that grinds together beef, pork, and chicken “trimmings” into a paste. Anything plant based has to be better than.... that 1

I was pescatarian before being vegan for so long and now being back, I have a very different perspective on the vegan diet.
Pop Art Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Ohhh I'm so perched for this. I loved Kraft's NotCheese slices that launched last year (and on that note I'm high key praying they try veganizing their classic mac n cheese too), hopefully this will be just as good for those summer days I'm in the mood for a hot dog.
poki Posted March 7 Posted March 7 I tried soy-based once and it was honestly my favorite. Recently came across plant-based mayo as well and I love it.
ATRL Moderator Bloo Posted March 7 ATRL Moderator Posted March 7 Nice, I much prefer vegan hot dogs to actual meat ones. So I’ll give these a try to compare against the brand I usually get.
