It’s MTV Studios which makes content for Viacom (Comedy Central, Paramount Plus, Nickelodeon, etc). It could have landed on any one of those. Let’s face it, Daria is the star. No one was gonna tune in for Jodie. Edited March 6 by Horizon Flame
Mordecai Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Aw this is sad. As much as I hate reboots I think Daria has aged well and probably could've been a decent show/movie when adapted for the current times. Idk why they went with Jodie though, I don't remember anything about her - apart from Daria and her family the only other characters I can remember are Jane, the airhead blonde and her dumb jock boyfriend 2
Fastlane Posted March 6 Posted March 6 (edited) They need to make a pilot season of Daria as an adult woman, only about modern trends. Edited March 6 by Fastlane 1 1
The7thStranger Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Not surprised. It’s been in development hell, and the reboot trend is already passé.
Poxy Posted March 6 Posted March 6 I feel bad because Daria indeed has held up very well. Hopefully we see more from that world in some way soon. 2 1

As someone who grew up experiencing what Jodie and her boyfriend/the prom king went through, I was really looking forward to this show. 4

That was no shade to Jodie - I still would have watched regardless (and I have a t shirt with her and Daria on it lol), just that to revive a 20 year old show and not have it be about any of the main cast doesn't really bode well from a business POV
Cheeky Posted March 7 Posted March 7 I'm shocked to hear a Jodie spinoff was even being considered. She's easily one of the least compelling characters on the show.
