Thank you lol I was feeling crazy, it's a good introduction to the era, she has everyone talking about her and some people tuned in but sending the song to radio would just ruin her relationship with them. I'm sure they have more radio friendly songs in the album, or at least something with a less grating chorus.

yep. it would hurt her releationship with radio.

this song is curretly #2 on my On Repeat playlist on Spotify with a taylor swift album imo

i just LOVE Camila when she goes pure pop. Shameless, Never be the same, Find u again. This song for me is that Camila but "more interesting".

she got me here and she's getting more and more people as i'm keeping track on my tiktok FYP

coachella was amazing for her, just saw a video of the performance with +600k likes

just trust the processs

She's not gonna find any numbers that way. She's a pop star no matter what, she needs radio

But it's that the thing I said. She doesn't look for numbers. Lana del Rey doesn't do "big" numbers on radio or in charts but...she's one of the big artist in the world and this weekend in Coachella. She's working right now for establised as a real artist with a group of loyalty fans that maybe grow up with the era. Maybe the plan doesn't result but...she doesn't need to be like Rihanna for a big career

And for real, she doesn't need the hits for her career. You only wants hits to laugh at the haters and the rest of the girls from fifth harmony. Look at your posts these weeks. You don't have any kind of emotion for the sound or the album itself.

I think the problem here is the type of artist she wants be/the artist the fans wants she can be. She left Epic because she wants free control on the music. I really think she loves her three first albums but Epic always had difficulties, objections with the tracklist, etc. So, Camila wants liberty and she signs with Interscope because is recognisez for that. The company works with artist like Lana del Rey, Carly Rae Jepsen. Girls that doesn't have radio singles, doesn't have a number 1, but they are really recognisez for her music, for doing live shows, festivals, big albums. And now, Camila wants that. Is the reason she left Epic, and maybe she doesn't want a number 1. She prefer now make a name in the music industry. And always she have time to make music more apelled for the radio. So, this era is for the arts, not the charts or the numbers. The sooner you understand it, the sooner you will enjoy the era

That actually makes so much sense.

And i'm all about the art, much rather than charts.

this song is doing a GREAT job rebranding her. radio would do way more harm than good. it's easy to see tbh.

Exactly. She wants to experiment with her sound, her image. She rebranding herself and her career with te new label and album. It's probably the reason she left Epic and begin again with her new album. The song is good and doing good in the media but isn't work for radio. It's better to put another song on the radio maybe more comercial or looking for new types of promo

It feels so good reading stuff like this. I guess we should trust the label and her team. They might know what they're doing with her. And yes, her whole rebranding is really working. She's everywhere.

I hope she builts a loyal fanbase within this era, because that's what she needs. She might not sell like an A-list artist, but if she has loyal supporters, like Lana, Carly, etc, she'll be safe in her music career for the longest.

That is. I would love for her to be like Rihanna, Beyoncé, Britney Spears with thousands of number 1 hits and albums every year, but there is a world between that and not being able to release music. There are artists like Lana del Rey, Carly Rae Jepsen, Lorde, Charli XCX, Troye Sivan. They don't collect numbers 1, but they make noise, they work, they do concerts, they have involved fans and they will have a long career. For someone who really likes Camila, that should be enough. If not, you just want to brag about her successes.

And obviously, Epic only wants numbers 1, hits. They never thought about Camila the artist, so she needed to go to a company like Interscope

The reception to this song has been so interesting to me, from stans, casuals and snobs (myself included).

Stans: Very confused why ANYBODY would be expecting a hit. The reality is she has had two hits, many years ago: Havana and Seniorita. The hard truth is the GP did not pay attention to her past 2 albums. Why would they suddenly pay attention to this?

Casuals: Genuinely perplexed how this is anything polarizing. It sounds like it could be on her first album. It's fun, synthy upbeat... very typical generic pop song. I think people just like to dog on her because she's very transparently a calculated product.

Snobs: As a long time PC Music/"hyperpop" stan, I don't understand the trashing of this song from an artistic perspective. She never claimed to be part of the scene nor does this really sound directly sonically inspired. Yes, it sounds like I Got It by Charli XCX but that's only in terms of vocal melody and lyrics (neither of which are groundbreaking). I'm willing to bet Camila has never even heard I Got It. Most of the people dragging this song just want to find something to dogpile on because apparently her dying her hair blonde means she's "tRyInG tO bE ArTy BuT sHe'S nOt". It's not that deep.

Anyway, I hope stans can stop making everything about numbers (who cares, she's a flop regardless), casuals can stop being so ****** boring (it's a fun, light song... not everything has to be "mature") and snobs can realize that mainstream artists experimenting is GOOD for the culture.

it's too soon to say what direction her career will take. i would agree that this era with Interscope suggests more of an indie pop career, but we need to hear the album first.

i think most of us can agree this single has done her more good than harm, the rebranding was successful. i also think the spotify updates have been super impressive.

On TikTok and Instagram. I even saw paid ads or influencers using "#ads" to promote the song. The label is doing their job for a song that isn't that radio friendly :rip:

let's be real, the song was performed at coachella main stage during the main event and couldn't even re-enter spotify global chart? I don't know, imo it has no future. All other snippets we've heard sound better and more commercial

We will see how the second single goes. If this one is not radio friendly either, I don't know which excuse will come in handy then.

I know she doesn't care about charts but it's a good feeling when you have a hit song. She should be more ambitious.

I've been her fan since day one and maybe that's why it's hard for me to watch her always get so little support from the label. How her team is more and less useless. Bunch of lazy Pandas.

Anyway, I hope she gets new listeners in this new era. I believe she has made her best album :heart2:

I agree with the radio comments! Besides thats more of an USA centric fic and not always translates well to the rest of the world. I also don't think many nonenglish speakers enjoyed the song... mmmm
