Can I ask if an upcoming song is called as the album title or just XOXO?

I ask cause i saw a rumor about she will announce the album release date soon with a new song.

My thinking is that I LUV IT, despite not being sent to radio, is the lead single to promote Camila, not the album. Based on what we've seen, the label never intended to send it to radio because they used it to create buzz around Camila. Basically, I LUV IT is just another song they can use to promote the album, (think to when albums have stickers saying "featuring hit singles: I LUV IT and SECOND SINGLE"). I think the label will prioritize investing in the second single, as its release date will be closer to the album's.

In conclusion, I LUV IT ultimately served as the lead single to promote Camila herself, and the next single will serve to promote the album and be sent to radio, if that makes sense.

That being said, I don't think they expected I LUV IT to have such potential, so they probably regret not sending it to radio, but ultimately they are still going through with their original plan.

Can I be honest? I don't know why you guys want this song to be sent to radio. It has no potential there, the radio listener won't like this. And you can't say her team and label isn't investing in her either, the song is everywhere currently and the promo is there too. Imo, it's not taking off cause it's not the right song and everyone should move on and release the next single.

I hope you're right.

I know I luv it would be in the top 20 if the song was sent to the radio stations.

If the second single doesn't get any support from the label, then I'll start to wonder why she signed to this label.

Everywhere? Where exactly? We know you can't hear it on the radio. Promo? She only did a radio one, no tv.

Sorry but with the radio support the song would be where it belongs.

If Taylor had released this song, no one would be saying what they're saying now. Everybody would love it.

I think the problem here is the type of artist she wants be/the artist the fans wants she can be. She left Epic because she wants free control on the music. I really think she loves her three first albums but Epic always had difficulties, objections with the tracklist, etc. So, Camila wants liberty and she signs with Interscope because is recognisez for that. The company works with artist like Lana del Rey, Carly Rae Jepsen. Girls that doesn't have radio singles, doesn't have a number 1, but they are really recognisez for her music, for doing live shows, festivals, big albums. And now, Camila wants that. Is the reason she left Epic, and maybe she doesn't want a number 1. She prefer now make a name in the music industry. And always she have time to make music more apelled for the radio. So, this era is for the arts, not the charts or the numbers. The sooner you understand it, the sooner you will enjoy the era

On TikTok and Instagram. I even saw paid ads or influencers using "#ads" to promote the song. The label is doing their job for a song that isn't that radio friendly :rip:

let's be real, the song was performed at coachella main stage during the main event and couldn't even re-enter spotify global chart? I don't know, imo it has no future. All other snippets we've heard sound better and more commercial

She's not gonna find any numbers that way. She's a pop star no matter what, she needs radio

If they were doing their jobs it would be on radio and have better playlisting. Why would performing to a crowd of 100k or more impact Spotify lmao

the playlisting for the song was amazing the first week, better than what she got with epic. She was in the first places of every main playlist on apple music too. it got worse because the streams decreased. Not everything is the labels fault. Especially when interscope is clearly investing in her.

And Coachella has a huge impact lol. Everyone, even smaller acts got more streams thanks to their performances...

exactly! the fact that THE BOP I LUV IT is having potential on social media and streaming platforms don't translate it into a radio hit at all

if anyone here kept track on callout scores it's pretty OBVIOUS that this song would get rejected. the chorus would be seen as "noise" by the casual pop radio listener.

if anything, they're doing the right thing cuz if she releases a more radio friendly second single it will chart way higher without the  I LUV IT rejection if they had send it.

the more songs rejected, the less radio will play the artist. they did the right thing

let I LUV IT to tiktok, twitter, streaming, lana del rey fans, charli xcx audience

push a more radio friendly song on radio

this song is doing a GREAT job rebranding her. radio would do way more harm than good. it's easy to see tbh.

Thank you lol I was feeling crazy, it's a good introduction to the era, she has everyone talking about her and some people tuned in but sending the song to radio would just ruin her relationship with them. I'm sure they have more radio friendly songs in the album, or at least something with a less grating chorus.
