As a result, we get quite a different top 20 compared to the one focused on total streams - one which rewards passionate fanbases and blockbusters with widespread appeal. Let's take a look, shall we? Disclaimer: kworb's numbers are slightly outdated, so I'm using Spotify on PC to update them accordingly. Overall rankings based on total streams were taken from Chartmasters, which only counts the version of the album accumulating most numbers. 1. Olivia Rodrigo - "SOUR" [8th most streamed album]: "hope ur ok" is the least streamed with 307.7M plays. 2. Billie Eilish - "WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?" [10th most streamed album]: technically the least streamed is "!!!!!!!" (129.280 plays), but it seems kworb excluded it because it's a 13-second long audio, so by their criteria the least streamed song is "goodbye" with 237.57M plays. 3. Bad Bunny - "Un Verano Sin Ti" [#1 most streamed album]: "El Apagón" is the least streamed with 237M plays. Particularly impressive feat considering this is a 23-track project. 4. Billie Eilish - "don't smile at me" EP [19th most streamed project]: "&burn" is the least streamed with 225M plays. 5. Ed Sheeran - "Divide (Deluxe)" [2nd most streamed album]: In a peculiar switch from the trends observed in the top 4, album opener "Eraser" is the least streamed here, with 204.7M plays. Yes, all four deluxe tracks have more streams than it. 6. Harry Styles - "Fine Line" [20th most streamed album]: "Treat People With Kindness" is the least streamed with 194.38M plays. 7. Harry Styles - "Harry Styles" [135th most streamed album]: "Ever Since New York" is the least streamed with 177.5M plays. 8. BTS - "MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA" EP [316th most streamed project]: "Intro: Persona" is the least streamed with 175.8M plays. 9. Taylor Swift - "reputation" [36th most streamed album]: "So It Goes..." is the least streamed with 169.3M plays. 10. BLACKPINK - "THE ALBUM" [221st most streamed album]: "You Never Know" is the least streamed with 166M plays. 11. Travis Scott - "ASTROWORLD" [24th most streamed album]: "NC-17" is the least streamed with 157.6M plays. 12. Harry Styles - "Harry's House" [39th most streamed album]: "Boyfriends" is the least streamed with 156.1M plays. 13. Ariana Grande - "thank u, next" [35th most streamed album]: "make up" is the least streamed with 152.9M plays. 14. twenty one pilots - "Blurryface" [45th most streamed album]: "Not Today" is the least streamed with 143.25M plays. 15. Bruno Mars - "24K Magic" [80th most streamed album]: "Calling All My Lovelies" is the least streamed with 134.3M plays. 16. BTS - "Love Yourself 轉 Tear" [236th most streamed album]: "134340" is the least streamed with 129.47M plays. 17. XXXTENTACION - "17" [28th most streamed album]: Excluding the 0:50 opener "The Explanation" (60.88M), since kworb seems to only count tracks longer than 1 minute, "Ayala (Outro)" is the least streamed with 127.96M plays. 18. The Weeknd - "Beauty Behind The Madness" [18th most streamed album]: Another peculiar case, where second track "Losers" is the least streamed with 125.4M plays. 19. Taylor Swift - "Lover" [16th most streamed album]: "It's Nice To Have A Friend" is the least streamed with 124.5M plays. 20. Arctic Monkeys - AM [22nd most streamed album]: "Mad Sounds" is the least streamed with 122.6M plays. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- BUT WHAT ABOUT THESE ALBUMS? - Taylor Swift's "Midnights", in its standard 13-track version, would be at #2, since its least streamed track "Labyrinth" has 253M plays. However, the 3am Edition already pushes it out the list thanks to "Glitch" 's 113.6M plays, while the definitive version considered by Chartmasters has the dreaded "Karma" remix with Ice Spice, currently stuck at 82.4M streams. - The Weeknd's "Starboy", in its standard 18-track version, would find itself right behind "thank u, next", with least streamed track "Love To Lay" having 151.9M plays. However, it's the 2023 reissue that allowed the album to reach the all-time top 3, which suffers from the added Kygo remix of "Starboy" only having 83.4M streams. - Taylor Swift's "folklore", in its standard 16-track version, would find itself in the top 10 ahead of "reputation" thanks to least streamed track "epiphany" having 173.1M plays. The deluxe edition would slightly lower its ranking, with "the lakes" ' 141M streams. However, it's the "long pond studio sessions" double disk version of the album that's considered by Chartmasters as the 38th most streamed project on Spotify, where the least streamed performance - that of "epiphany" - only has 8.988M plays. - Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die", in its standard 12-track version, would find itself right behind "Blurryface", with least streamed track "This Is What Makes Us Girls" having 143.5M plays. However, the deluxe version already pushes it out the list thanks to "Lucky Ones" ' 85.5M streams, while the definitive version considered by Chartmasters is the Paradise Edition, with least streamed track "Burning Desire" at 55.5M plays. - The standard edition of Dua Lipa's "Future Nostalgia" would barely make the list, as least streamed track "Boys Will Be Boys" has 123.5M streams. But once again, it's the Moonlight Edition re-release that pushed it as the 6th most streamed album of all-time, where unfairly maligned "Not My Problem" only has 26.6M streams. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope you enjoyed this extensive but peculiar breakdown. I agree with you, but since I wanted to directly compare with the traditional rankings based on total streams, I had to rely on Chartmasters, where they only count the most 'complete' version of each project. It's definitely inconvenient, don't get me wrong, and I'm grateful there are no pre-2010s albums in here which would have made it even more of a headache. But omitting them altogether was the only choice I had to maintain the consistency of the format I wanted to do. That's why I felt it was necessary to separately highlight these projects that suffer from having many versions but would have otherwise made it when considering their standard editions. A compromise, but one that still ensured to showcase their hypothetical performance.
