Gwendolyn Posted March 3 Posted March 3 (edited) The 2024 BRIT Awards pulled in 3.1 million viewers during its broadcast on Saturday night. Maya Jama, Roman Kemp and Clara Amfo hosted the show, and for the second year running it took place on a Saturday, broadcast live from London's O2 Arena. And despite a star-studded lineup, that included Kylie Minogue, Dua Lipa and Raye, ratings dipped by 0.8 million. The BRIT Awards 2024, streamed on ITV, pulled in an average audience of 2.5 million, with a peak of 3.1 million. 2023 was the first year the Awards ceremony was moved to a Saturday and evidently the move paid off - after views rose by 1.2 million from the year before - when it was broadcast. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/brit_awards/article-13151361/BRIT-Awards-2024-pulls-3-1-million-viewers-ratings-dip-million-despite-performances-Kylie-Minogue-Dua-Lipa-Raye.html Edited March 3 by Gwendolyn
Gelato Posted March 3 Posted March 3 (edited) Not surprised. Obviously how people watch TV has changed but I can't describe how uncool this entire show feels nowadays. When I was a child it was one of the biggest nights for anyone who loves music and entertainment but now no one cares. UK record labels are also really struggling to launch new British acts, especially female ones. Edited March 3 by Gelato 4
Dante Silva Posted March 3 Posted March 3 It felt odd this was on, on a Saturday night. So used to it being on mid-week. I kept having to remind myself it wasn’t Wednesday. 2
honestopinion Posted March 3 Posted March 3 The way i only knew Brits happened is because of Miley's post on Instagram, this award is dead
narid Posted March 3 Posted March 3 No one cares about the Brits tbh. Completely irrelevant award show.
glitch Posted March 3 Posted March 3 In all seriousness I think the BRITS were better when they were a more informal event. Ever since they've acted like the British Grammys it's been a bit cringe. They always pick the most awful presenters, it surely isn't that hard to find someone half decent to present 2

tost1 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Everyone tuned out after Dua's performance to stream TS on repeat! 1 2
Junlin Posted March 3 Posted March 3 (edited) They should be so lucky having Kylie™ to carrying the ratings for such a boring show. Edited March 3 by Junlin
Jay07 Posted March 3 Posted March 3 No offense but other than Kylie and Dua I didn't know anyone else who was performing or winning awards. Happy for RAYE though, she seemed really moved (but I still don't know her).

The bar was in hell last night. 2
Miley Cyrus Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Training season made 1 million people tune out Dua’s power! 2
LosingHimWasBlue Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Y'all still hyping up this? no one in real life know this show, except British. 1

Kylie, of course, yes, an icon. But no one, except the regular deluded gay, would tune in for these people. You either bring the big ones or you skip a year.
babycomeround Posted March 3 Posted March 3 The British GP knew they weren't gonna get excellence like this so didn't tune in.

Last year had Harry Styles (who I dislike but can't deny that he is a big star)
