Maroonx Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Absolutely pathetic stan war. both sides need to grow up and move on. These women are in their 50s now x 1
FantasyRide Posted March 2 Posted March 2 I will never accept this feud/stan war. 1) they’re 2 of my fave artists of all time.i won’t pick a side. 2) these women are in their 50s..I refuse to participate in something that wants to diminish the achievements of highly successful women who already have the obstacle of ageism in their way 3) it’s very tired they are not even similar artists. just enjoy the fact they’re both putting out some of their best work (TIM…N / Caution) decades into their career and get over it. 1

I still can't believe Tommy forced her to record Play ASAP, when she didn't like the song. Imagine being 31 and your CEO ask you to fly to Sweden to record a teen pop song. Omg but Play is such a bop, a classic I fear. 7 hours ago, CosTaSsSs said: I think Tommy was the fault they put these women against. Mariah is an amazing vocalist and a great singer, while Jennifer has the charisma and talent of a performer. They are very different, but with so many similarities at the same time. They have the BEST feel-good music with tracks such as (Heartbreaker, I'm Real, Touch My Body, Get Right etc.) It's tiring having these two "fighting" against each other all the time. People act like Ashanti was the only female to be used as a background vocalist, while Rihanna and Bey and almost anyone did this but they go unnoticed. Also, I feel because people believe she relies a lot to her beauty and body, they feel "jealous" so they hate her. In psychology matters, whenever we hate something with passion we see things in other that we have and hate or wish we had.. so I guess that may answer a lot of things. Yes I completely agree they both bring such joy with their music, they’re romantics at heart and capture a lot of feminine creativity in their work in ways that I think critics and mainstream audiences found challenging to stomach at times. I also think JLo is in a gilded cage with the comments on her looks because a lot of the comments feel driven by envy and passive aggression. She is always diminished to her looks despite being incredibly talented, Mariah has also experienced that too but I think not to the same extent these days. Either way they are legends.

Agreed, it’s stupid because they have both given the world so much great music and yet instead of being grateful for how rare artists like the two of them are (who have the work ethic and talent to make it in the business into their 50s) people live in the past and can’t let go of a dated and misogynistic narrative about two successful women. 1

Lo has said that she wasn't even aware of the shenanigans at the time. Yellow Magic Orchestra's Firecracker was sampled 18 times before Mariah or J.Lo even thought of sampling it too. Why is Mariah/her stans acting like she owns the damn song? Do you guys even realize that this kind of stuff happens all the time behind the scenes? How many messy stories have we heard about demos/ideas for songs being shopped around to different artists? Besides I'm Real sounds very different than Loverboy and Loverboy sounds MUCH better with the Cameo sample than it does with the Firecracker one. If anything she should be thankful for J. Legend forcing her to rework the song and make it better As for Ja Rule he was a hot commodity at the time and he just had a string of crossover hits, why wouldn't J. Lo want to collaborate with him? Does Mariah own Ja Rule too? Let's all be so for real, Jennifer has done nothing to warrant such animosity. Honestly I admire Jen for always remaining so gracious when it comes to this one-sided feud and for never reciprocating Mariah's nasty energy. Couldn't be me. I really hope they'll mend things eventually. The forced J. Lo hate has got to stop this being so out of touch with what actually happened (and was confirmed by various producers)

That's such a d!ck, mafia move (like in a movie). One of J.Lo's later producers confirmed the story as he was present. If my memory serves me right, it was Coey Rooney. And he had the audacity to mock the situation and make fun of Mariah and that that happened to her in a freaking instagram post in 2020. Mariah what Mariah said later on about J.Lo was rude or uncalled for... or.... maybe Mariah is just a woman who went through a life changing situation and was still traumatized at that point. I choose to believe that Mariah was and continues to be deeply hurt by all these things that went down in the late 90s and early 2000s. Do you have a quote/screen cap of what Cory Rooney has said? I believe Mariah too, I mean Cory wasn't with Mariah&Tommy every time so it's not his business. You know Cory loves Mariah and Jennifer but he also love a lot Tommy...

Mariah is rude They have 2 different personalities, baby, express yourself about the fact that you find Mariah rude, it's Therapy time. From 2008 (during the promo of E=MC) : Quote Mariah Carey is fighting back against a new Internet report that suggests she is feuding with Jennifer Lopez. The report, which has spread in the blogsphere Tuesday, includes a quote - supposedly from Carey - saying that she would rather appear on stage with a certain animal than ever share a stage with Lopez. The story, Carey tells PEOPLE. is "a complete untruth." Carey insists that the quote did not, and would not, come from her. "This is just some Internet gossip and it's pathetic that people actually entertain the thought that this could be real," Carey adds. "This is another sad example of two strong women being pit against each other." Carey has a new album due out in the spring, shortly after Lopez is due to give birth.
