xperience30 Posted May 12 Posted May 12 Guys I'm in shook ! I found Clancy at my local record store earlier this day and I bought it immediately. 3
Jukebox Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Routines In The Night is the best song on this, that song is an ear-worm and literally their best song in years. The singles are kinda the worst songs on this which is a nice surprise. I am starting to think they'll never recapture the magic of Vessel / Blurry / Trench which is a shame but there's more songs I like on this than on Icy so that's a good step forward. Routines in the Night, Vignette and Navigating are my faves on first listen.
illia Posted May 24 Posted May 24 (edited) I'm sad this didn't click with me at all. I only liked Overcompensate, Next Semester and Navigating Lavish is kinda giving Tame Impala Edited May 24 by illia
jeffreyy Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Hate to say the prerelease tracks are the best. Out of the new ones, the only ones I liked are Oldies Station, At The Risk Of Feeling Dumb, and, unironically, Lavish. Paladin Strait is not bad, though. That's 8/13, more than what I can say about my other faves' new releases
Almodusa Posted May 24 Posted May 24 Got the CD, love the design of the interior! I think my favorite from the tracks we didn't hear is Navigating
ATRL Moderator Ampersand13 Posted May 27 ATRL Moderator Posted May 27 Still need a few more listens all the way through but I really enjoy this! It’s quite different from what I expected so my first listen was a little jarring but even by the fourth play I’m starting to vibe with each track and love a few standouts. Jenna’s version is cute but The Craving single version kind of washes it with ease. I’m also begging them to make Routines a single. That could pop off this summer 1
iiswhoiis_max Posted May 27 Posted May 27 I am so sad. This is not doing anything for me :( 2024 is cursed!
velocity Posted May 28 Posted May 28 first listen this album is really good, i'm going to need a bit more time with it though. midwest indigo, navigating, oldies station, at the risk of feeling dumb and paladin strait are all highlights
HalSmoker Posted May 28 Posted May 28 Routines In The Night its a SMASH! I don't know why they don't push it like the 1st single :s

Like... These two absolute monstrous bops. Anyway, do we know what this is expected to debut with in the US? I read it could challenge a number 1 in the UK but haven't seen any predictions stateside.

Makes you wonder what other smashes Tyler left off the album.

Rih On The Brain Posted May 30 Posted May 30 This really is such a good album. Like a more polished version of Blurryface. The production is incredible. I always wonder with Tyler if he's being serious when he says anything so I think he may have been trolling when he said he didn't like Routines and Navigating, with them being the most pop sounding tracks (ones which the fanbase tends to reject for some reason). I do wonder if he's tired of pandering to fans who are obsessed with the lore which let's be honest has been dragged out long enough and needs to die. I've enjoyed the lore from a distance but never really engaged with the fanbase who obsess over it. I'm here for the music and it really is delivering on this album. Can't wait to see them live next year.
