Brat’s font and colour look carefully chosen. The font is called Knockout and if from Hoefler & Co., a very renowned and respected typeface foundry, and the price of it starts at $169.00 at the lowest (it could go up to over $1000.00 if licensed for 3 computers). It is not some dafont looking free typeface. The colour is green, but it’s not quite standard green, there is a dustiness to it, and almost a touch of green giving it an almost ficus feeling. It’s by no means a standard swatch green that takes no consideration. Perhaps you don’t do this for a living, and perhaps you’ve never seen the full Vinyl design for Brat where the simplicity and beauty of the design really comes through, but regardless, it’s okay to dislike it, its not going to be to everyone’s tastes, but it’s by no means a tragic cover to be listed in a grouping of poor album covers. You can quote this all you want but it won't change the above facts.

I agree with you. Of course when she finally releases something I like everyone hates it 💀

I understand what you're saying, but just because lots of thought went into it (there wasn't ever any doubt about that tbh, I do this for a living as well--I'm sure there were tons of meetings and drafts and revisions) doesn't make it good. You can put all the effort in the world into something and if the end result is something mediocre, it doesn't really matter. The GP isn't going to care about the font or the subtle green. You don't have to be a gourmet chef to know when something tastes like ****.

(Also just FYI I'm just saying all this as a discussion about the art, not as an attack on you or Charli personally. I love hearing diff perspectives. :bird: I just don't really like it. Not my thing!)

agreed. also, really not into this diy/distressed/"intentionally" LQ/pixelly thing. She already like *kinda* did that with HIFN and this one isn't artfully or tastefully done enough to look intentional. It just looks lazy and bad.

Also, in case anyone wasn't sure if she signed with Ratlantic again:

On her last interview she already confirmed herself, the ownership of her masters was in the new contract

Kinda living for the cover. Definitely gets people talking

It wouldn't be a Charli release without 200 different complaints from her own fanbase. They truly are her biggest haters. Complaining about the music being bad so far when all we have is a couple Von Dutch snippets and chopped up iPhone videos from a Boiler Room set + People being already pissed off at a release date that's not even confirmed.

The cover/placeholder/whatever is jarring as hell at first, but now I find it hilarious and cool. Hope she keeps it just to piss everyone off.

And the boiler room set sounds nothing like the actual songs :cm:

I am growing fond of the cover however with the rumoured release date not being until August, I suspect they will try to get the average fan / vinyl collector to also buy the album to open with big sales. I'm sure there will be another title to appease the GP otherwise whats the point in setting the release date so far away?

Did it l-word? Actually surprised it took this long knowing her past history. I'm pretty certain the song won't be 7 minutes long anyway.

That too, honestly. All we have is Von Dutch and remixes + The confirmation that the album will take a club route. Let's keep the full judgement for the 14 other tracks we haven't heard.

I like the visuals but why is the cover low quality, it's triggering

How is it triggering... I don't believe you have trauma surrounding low quality album covers.

Perched. People do a little too much on Crash, it had some bops. Each of her projects have great songs so I'm seated for some more Charli baby :jamming:

I love the cover design, but this corny (and wrong) explanation....be serious...

The font is Arial, squished vertically, so you wrote all of that for nothing :deadbanana:

Is this a reference to Beyonce's self-titled?
