AIWFCIY actually went up from 9m in their last article to 17m digital sales. most of which obviously weren't sold post 2017 also it seems like they underestimated her non Japanese Asian sales in their last article. many of them went up by 500k sales Edited February 27 by wowsignal14 1
mojitos Posted February 27 Posted February 27 2 minutes ago, Jjang said: she sold 14m pure albums from 2017 onwards? No but they obviously underestimated her sales back then and went against labels claims... for example music box was said to be a 1m seller in south korea and music box a 1,4m seller in germany by sony itself and yet they had these sales much lower back in 2017
Feanor Posted February 27 Posted February 27 20.1M - 'Mariah Carey' (1990) 15.2M - 'Emotions (1991) 35.6M - 'Music Box' (1993) 24.2M - 'Merry Christmas' (1994) 35.8M - 'Daydream' (1995) 16.2M - 'Butterfly' (1997) 9.9M - 'Rainbow' (1999) Just an insane run for her. 1
SuperCiC1 Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Daydream being her commercial peak (as it should be). 3

No, she was last updated in 2017 before they came up with new and more reliable formulas to estimate the Asian market, where she sold millions of albums during her peak. 1

This would be cool if ChartMasters wasn’t made-up and highly inaccurate. 1 1
supertiffany Posted February 27 Posted February 27 she's a gigantic ASIAN seller so she should be higher, those asian countries usually is not like US/EUROPE which states official sales. she should be over 200M obviously 1
Ms. Togekiss Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Music box and daydream I didn’t expect them to be 1. So massive and 2. So equal in smashery. Daydream always seemed like her biggest album (the singles are immaculate whereas Music Box is forgagatten)

Daydream always seemed like her biggest album (the singles are immaculate whereas Music Box is forgagatten) It shows in the numbers too. Music Box was initially much bigger like over 31m of its sales come from its original release and only 4m from compilations/GH. Whilst Daydream was the longevity smash and has 11m from compilations/GHs,24m from original album. Although ig in 10 years her Christmas album will beat both.
