byzantium
This is terrible and un American. It is a corporation’s God given right to screw over consumers and employees as stated in both the Constitution and the Bible. If we allow big government to interfere with this then what’s next? Will they force us to be able to afford healthcare? Edited February 27 by byzantium
chessguy99
Even though Kroger and Albertsons are the two biggest traditional grocery store companies, together they won't be close to what Walmart does in annual food/grocery sales. Walmart is not unionized, while nearly all the stores owned by Kroger and Albertson are. The argument as far as the merger will be bad for employees is mainly driven by the food/grocery labor unions. With the merger they won't have the ability to use the contracts with one as the negotiation start point of the other.
