4Walls Posted February 27 Posted February 27 (edited) Dialogue isn't for television either apparently. Just look at the new live action Avatar the Last Airbender. So cringe. Edited February 27 by 4Walls
HASHTAGPOW Posted February 27 Posted February 27 No wonder he casted "I use only 25% of method acting" Austin Butler
ohwow Posted February 27 Posted February 27 never watched ha, but he didnt really say that by the quoted material idk
Bosque Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Quote I don’t remember movies because of a good line, I remember movies because of a strong image. I’m not interested in dialogue at all. Pure image and sound, that is the power of cinema, but it is something not obvious when you watch movies today. A bit of a spill
Life Savers Posted February 27 Posted February 27 He kind of spilled actually, but I'd disagree dialogue is the culprit.
Illuminati Posted February 27 Posted February 27 I haven't seen Dune to comment on it but I have seen similar visual driven movies and TV shows, I think it's literally the same thing the Euphoria director has said... And honestly I think it's not enough. You can do both dialogue and visuals and get the best of both. There's no reason to limit art 3

vale9001 Posted February 27 Posted February 27 I think the correct word was "plot" instead of "dialogue". Dialogues are really important, especially in specific genres like comedies. What great cinema really doesn't need is plots (while television Is the art of that). A great movie can have what you can call a thin plot but the Power of the images and sounds makes It an unforgettable experience.
Tudors Posted February 27 Posted February 27 (edited) Dune was boring af. Skipping the new one too Edited February 27 by Tudors 1 2
Cain Posted February 27 Posted February 27 He’s right but the way you completely didn’t put what he said in the title Bring back literacy 4
TaylorNation Posted February 27 Posted February 27 I really like Dune but him and Christopher Nolan are so ******* unbearably pretentious also what is this, the 1940s?
suburbannature Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Not you calling him Dune director when he gave us Arrival, Sicario, Prisoners
playboi Posted February 27 Posted February 27 didn't he make a whole movie on alien linguistics and the power of communication 1
flower moon Posted February 27 Posted February 27 not sure i agree or see his point but he makes amazing films so he can keep hating dialogue
Park Jinyoung Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Nothing but respect for the Blade Runner 2049 filmmaker
