Turkish Shows Discussion Thread : Is anyone watching?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

So , a year ago I was introduced to Turkish shows and have started watching them.

I came to know they are very popular globally.

So I thought we can discuss and recommend each other here.

I recently Kara Sevda and watching an ongoing series Kizil Goncalar ( it's based on religious sects conflicts etc..   very thought provoking)

I am Turkish so I know most of them yes

You should definitely watch Kizilcik Serbeti, Ask-i Memnu, Ufak Tefek Cinayetler and maybe Yali Capkini - there's also Love 101 on Netflix it's a bit cringe but cute if you're into that kind of series

i really like ‘ömer’ it’s about a 25 years old mouezzin who falls in love with 40 years old divorced woman - a relationship that his conservative father would never approve of. it takes a religious approach to all kinda relationship

Turkish shows used to be massive in my country around then years ago. Like, Turkey colonised and massacred us but we still stanned their good TV dramas.

Yaprak Dökümü was a mega HIT. Ferhunde was the first woman I ever stanned. And Hayriye, the queen you are! I even remember they Shevket's actor for the one of the following seasons  any Turkish ATRL who can clock the tea?

That series was hugeee. Ferhunde was the enemy of the whole nation. We still make jokes about her.  The impact still continues I come across a lot of memes. I recently started watching it again cuz of nostalgia and wow what a throw back to 2000s. Also for the Şevket, i read the news that he reft the series cuz he was using dr UGGs. The c-word to be spesific. :coffee:

Yes yes I am watching Serbeti it's great but my blood boils when I see what they do to Doga

Yali Capkini keeps my sugar level high lol. It's so much stress
