There was clearly something going on with the visuals (which we presume still exist and may be revealed eventually given Nadia Lee Cohen also worked on the Act II visuals). I will say that having specific eras geared towards exploring different genres seems on paper more coherent than what Lemonade was (a dabbling in a bunch of different genres at once, in an album primarily about infidelity and rebuilding, but also having some allusions to Black Empowerment). I’m not saying you thought Act I/II were/will be bad, but if you think these songs could easily go to different artists, I’m curious who you’d assign those tracks. I guess Pure/Honey can go to Azealia or even Nicki, and maybe even Miley - again I'm having hard time thinking of an artist with Bey's deep voice. But the production is very generic to say least and not even close to something that distinguish ACT I. 1
duadududt Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Beyoncé has the #1 song on Spotify rn. I think she's doing just fine

aesthetic bih Posted February 24 Posted February 24 I'm positive Taylor, Beyonce, Ariana and Dua are gonna come up with great albums. For Taylor, it won't be a challenge for her to top Midnights lbr and Beyonce always guarantees an amazing body of work - never doubt Queen Bey's execution, she was gone for 6 years for a reason! Dua is 2/2 with her singles so far, and it's a promising sign that she will deliver ala Future Nostalgia-quality again. Based on insider info, Eternal Sunshine is Ari's most experimental album and will potentially become her best since Thank U, Next. We also have Billie and Lorde coming up, both of which who always come up with something interesting and new - so these are another ones to watch out for So... take a chill pill, and save your conclusions AFTER all of our faves' albums are actually out
aesthetic bih Posted February 24 Posted February 24 Also, just because you did not enjoy the new music releases or they didn't mean your expectations, doesn't mean music in general has been dry/terrible. Maybe 2024 isn't just your year for YOUR music preference. Btw I'm so excited for 2024, everybody is releasing and there is so much to look forward to! With such high volume of new content, I'm very positive all of us we'll find music we'll enjoy listening to - A BLESSING!

Yes, and ? is not even close to being in her top 5... and Dua singles sound recycled in my opinion. It's not like the songs are bad, it's just that all of them sound recycled and bland, the last time we had this amount of mega stars releasing music at the same time was 2011/2 can you even compare 2011 levels of excitement and quality to this?
AvadaKedavra Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Beyonce really needed an uptempo album in her discography and we got renaissance. After exploring so many different genres i think Country was the right suit for her. After all theyre her roots. Texan ones We dont have the visuals cause she gave us Black is king and people were not appreciative of it and complained. So no visuals lol. karma and vendetta About Dua Lipa and Ariana. Yes im a bit lost with their directions and intentions. Lets wait for the whole projects and judge.

How is Yes And recycled and bland when Ari hasn't done a song like that ever? Ariana's recycling would be releasing something like Problem --> Focus. You are being contradictory. Also, Houdini and Training Season would stick out like a sore thumb if they were included in Future Nostalgia. To me, it's more of evolving and refining from where she left at, rather than "recycling". Another thing: Bringing up 2011-2012 music is a bad example to make your point, because during that time, every pop star was releasing... Pop Radio-Fodder music. It was just fortunate for our faves that during the time that Pop was at the Top, so it worked out so much in their favor. Actually, if you compare it to now - the charts are relatively more diversified - people can hit #1 with Pop, Country, Rap/Urban, and R&B, among other genres ofc It seems to be you're just a very particular and hard to please music listener imo.
