I knew this was coming after being sold to their new Saudi owners but this stings.

If they don't publish content online, then what and where are they publishing?  Like what is the point of existing as a media publishing company if you don't publish on your own website??

In the article it says they want to take on a studio content business model where they create content and have other media companies buy/publish the material. Honestly it sounds like they’re completely phasing out written material and only planning on creating video content? It’s all so ambiguous though. I highly doubt this business plan is viable, I can see VICE fully shuttered within the next year.

Their video content business was likely never profitable to begin with, and there is absolutely no way they can complete with AP, so I guess it's the end of Vice.  Quite disingenuous for the CEO to lead employees on like this when he knows what is likely to happen...

Well I don’t doubt running a business won’t be “cost-effective” when the majority of funds are used for a CEO’s million dollar bonuses like Bruce Dixon has done.
