XDNA Posted February 22 Posted February 22 When you add in the visuals factor it elevates the album experience to above a 7.

cuteboyzay Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I’ve lowkey been listening to it and the production is actually really f*cking good! The instrumentation and everything. Like she def has an ear for great sound quality. The only thing that sucks is that it just doesn’t fit Jennifer’s voice at aalll! Like the whole time during the album I’m thinking “Omg this track could be SO MUCH better if so and so was singing it”. Because Jennifer’s voice just doesn’t do the songs justice. 1 1

Mikeymoonshine Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Isn't this a good score for Jlo? Doesn't she normally get like super panned? 2

Most notably, a vast improvement over her last few projects and I think that is always commendable. Good for Pitchfork for not giving in to stupid internet stan narratives! also cant get enough is a bop 3
insomniac Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I mean, the album is really good so I am not surprised. To those that keep dragging: you’re really “cool” following the negativity and hate-train like sheep without forming your own opinion outside of the bubble. However if you actually give it a chance it’s actually a great album with little to no filler. There’s a reason critics are into it and even the film that’s getting dragged on social media by lowlifes is actual getting praised by critics: https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/this_is_me_now_a_love_story Album reviews: Pitchfork: 6.6/10 (Positive) Telegraph: 4/5 (Positive) Collider: 7/10 (Positive) Empire: 3/5 (Positive) Roger Ebert: 3/5 (Positive) The Aure View: 4/5 (Positive) AV Club: A- (Positive) Consequence: B (Positive) The Daily Beast: 3/5 (Positive) Mashable: A+ (Positive) The AU: 4/5 (Positive) Riff: 7/10 (Positive) Slant: 3/5 (Positive) Social media echo chambers does not always imply the truth. Even though ya’ll like to run with it! 5 2
Dolce Vita Posted February 22 Posted February 22 honestly the songs i heard are pretty good, way better than her last album. people keep beating a dead horse with the relentless lashings and it’s getting boring 4
Afterglow Posted February 22 Posted February 22 The album is like a cosplay of filler R&B. Her voice just doesn't fit.
