This isn't a drag. I think it's just a self-depricating joke about how she was in a different headspace when she released that particular album. (Especially since it was the first one following the Kanye/Kim drama and the hate train overexposure stuff). You can tell in that album she was trying to vent how she felt in her music while also exploring her relationship at the time with Joe and other recent ones. At the end of the day - Getaway Car, Delicate, So It Goes, Call It What You Want, Dancing With Our Hands Tied, I Did Something Bad, Look What You Made Me Do, Dress, King Of My Heart and New Year's Day are all great songs  with some of them among my all time favorites from Taylor

I think she was trying to clarify the genre because she called it punk before and it was clearly not punk

Reputation and 1989 are only loved by pop music stans like me. Most of the actual Swifties have it lower in their ranking and are more Speak Now and folkevermore stans

I don't think this was a drag, seemed like a bit of self deprecating humor

That would be the most un-Taylor like thing for her to do ever.

Is context lost on us? She’s just saying she doesn’t know how to classify it in terms of sound. (The last time she tried she called it goth punk female rage and got dragged so :rip: ), which makes sense right after classifying 1989 as a shift to pop music. Her speech is about her trying out new sounds and genres.
