OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, and DALL·E/Bing Image Models, announced their first text-to-video model named Sora! Examples below:

Insanely powerful and insanely scary. The onslaught of fake videos is really about to hit huh, that literally any ***** can make. The internet is honestly gonna need to be shut down cause it's just gonna be pure lies.

I really wonder if this is gonna dampen creativity and innovation. If people can just type anything in instead of producing themselves, and if what they type in produces things based on the already popular beliefs and aesthetic values, then where does that leave fringe, new and marginal perspectives?

It will severely reduce demand for digital art in all forms, but it will boost demand for physical art. When it comes to movies, I'm not sure that they will be replaceable anytime soon, but animators are already on their way out.
