It does happen with Miley Cyrus' Flowers, for example. A smash hit is a smash hit. As for country being a hard sell, it's a popular genre in Australia and it's only #19 there.

you can’t be this dense… :rip: flowers set records on the spotify all time charts (all genres, all artists, all time). it was an anomaly and is no one’s standard.

why would you ever think to compare that to a country song by beyonce

A 100k drop in streams? Oh wow. Bey is truly a force with nearly 30 years of mainstream chart success.

Most of all, this seems to be really big for her and a total shift from anything she's done. This legit could have been DOA and isn't a safe sound by any means.

She's so beloved in Ireland. Wouldn't be surprised if this eventually becomes a multiweek #1 here just like Break My Soul. :dies:

Nice gains in multiple countries.

Weekday release will help stability till Friday

Hopefully stable from the Weekend onwards

This could debut Top 10

If they put it at #1 on TTH on Friday, I think it'll stay stable

But you are using one of the biggest hits of the decade as an example. What they told you is a reality.

At least in Latin America, if an international artist has a song in the top 200 its a SMASH HIT, bc the entire top 200 is dominated by regional acts and that song is probably one of the other 5 international songs in the chart.

The same with  France, Germany and more countries whose language is not English.

:bird:

In Europe it's a bit less though. You have most of the songs in the top 10 by regional acts but there's always that one or two international hits in the Top 10 and they're occasionally #1. In Latin America it looks like it's similar to Japan where the biggest international song will be like Top 30.

I know it was not intentional and this was planned for years, but country music being very on-trend right now with country songs smashing left and right has worked out in her favor it seems…

Beyoncé has had her pulse on what’s hot and what will be trendy since the late 90s. She is much like Madonna in that respect.
