HANZ94 Posted February 18 Posted February 18 She truly is smashing with a country song with no video huh? Damn she is winning 2
Gaia Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Wow that’s super impressive. She hasn’t had a genuine smash in what feels like a decade. And it all happens when she makes less pretentious music. Deserved! 1

It’s also stable at #1 on iTunes and Apple Music…Beyoncé has a certified smash hit on her hands And I was spot on 1

It was a TikTok hit sure, but not some huge bonafide smash I think I’m the “old” generation. I’m used to know what the standards are for physical sales. But to be honest I’m lost when it comes to the “new” way of charts (this message has nothing ironic). Can you tell what are the standards for streaming stuff? Like from “how many streams” would be consider a tune a smash? or regarding Texas, I see we have 5M today. Is 5M just good/full of hope or is it excellent? thanks for your help if you don’t mind of course Edited February 18 by Negiiiii

Is 5M just good/full of hope or is it excellent? thanks for your help if you don’t mind of course I’d say the standard now is 1B streams is considered a smash especially for recent songs. See Kill Bill at 1,6B streams after a little more than a year. It’s more than double of Cuff it after 2 years. See Greedy that has 800M despite only being like 5 months old. Those are smashes. Cuff It was the biggest hit WW Beyonce has had in a while but still wasn’t some bonafide smash. If THE can maintain its current success then it’ll be the first genuine smash she’s had in a very long time. I used to LOVE Beyonce but I feel off when she became too “pretentious” for me. I prefer 16C to THE but love both a lot more than her recent output. Seeing her do commercials, the Renaissance movie where she’s actually talking, etc. It’s all like she’s finally getting over the “Goddess” complex she’s had the past decade. It’s nice to see her just release feel good music and stuff more personal to her and not trying to be political either.
