one station replied to someone asking to play beyoncé by saying they don’t play her on a country station. it was the day after the song dropped and they didn’t know beyonce had dropped a country song, then they played the song later that day.

it’s not the issue you want to make it to be

Radio stats say otherwise tho lmao

Like I said, it caused wider discussions how their industry operates, so they threw her crumbs. You may not see it, possibly because you haven't been following things. You don't even know how rolling works, yet tried to use that as an excuse.

all of the major country radio execs have been excited about the song & it was most added on country radio… but somehow you guys want to convince yourselves they’re scared?

does every beyoncé era need to have some activist narrative, like pls

Clearly, you’re not familiar with how radio works. Rolling effect does not happen for 3 days, it usually takes effect on the 8th day of the song impacting radio.

secondly most of those radio stations may have just added the song and spun it a few times because of the little backlash they were getting. Now that things have quieted down, they are no longer obligated to play the song. My biggest bet is that have it in rotation in the PM when nobody is listening.

Idk why you’re in this base being nasty, trying to gaslight us.

She doesn't need every country station to play it tbh, just having some to keep some airplay from the format would be enough.

hmmm, for some reason is till think this could start gaining from next week.

You barely understand the rolling effect of radio and you come in here on some weird aggressive **** for no reason. Maybe go focus on the law…

What measurement are you using for that? Because going by stats, it can't be country radio.

It's more, you coming in here without knowing what you're talking about - talking for the sake of talking. The song is a success, yes, but country radio support has been paltry. Says it all when a country song is more embraced by urban radio.

Do numbers increase when songs hit #1 on Global Spotify? I know a lot of songs tend to grow once they hit the top spot (unless they debut there). Maybe TH’E numbers could increase a chunk tomorrow too. Let’s shoot for 7M.

its #1 on the billboard country charts, debuted #54 on billboard country radio chart, was most added on country radio, and is included on every major country playlist

she gets more play on urban bc that’s been her format for over 20 years, this is her first ever country single and its doing great for a pop star trying to crossover

sorry i dont know exactly how the rolling effect works but one negative update after a bunch of positive ones doesn’t mean country is rejecting beyoncé

1. Do you know how genre charts work? These things aren't government by a panel of genre bigwigs. It's number one on the chart, because it's a country song. It's not the defence you think it is.

2. Do you not think it's odd that on the week of the song being announced as the country #1, the plays on the radio format dry up?

3. You've been told multiple times that it's been three consecutive negative updates on the format. That tells me you're just being contrarian or ignoring what others say. If you did, you would stop.

It's fine that you don't know how things work, which is why you should listen when people explain to you. Otherwise, it's just silly.

Hmm, you are trying to tell us we make everything "an activist narrative" when Beyonce is out there breaking barriers and making herstory as we speak. You are saying Country radio is embracing her tho shes losing audience for the third day in a row despite being the #1 song in the world

Fridays are usually peak streaming days. There are instances were streams increase on a Saturday but it’s not very common. So I would say lower your expectations. We may get a new streaming peak next week friday again but honestly it may not touch in the 7 mill unless LATAM and Asia picks it up but I would love to be wrong.

I think that user is just trying to be a contrarian. I would say ignore. They have more pressing things to do… like go stream PF2 or sumn.

If Country radio continues to act stupid, we will put them on the news once again. We did it last week, we can do it again!
