Miley?! Beyoncé is an album seller and a living legend. Everyone can’t wait to hear this album. The 1st week streams alone will knock Renaissance out the water comparatively.
Kristie Kuwa Posted February 22 Posted February 22 But... But... Texas > BMS 16C > Plastic Like, act ii is coming for act I even in the quality department
Lovett Posted February 22 Posted February 22 She's really going to snatch her first top 10 in Germany since "Telephone" with this! 2
Dreajae Posted February 22 Posted February 22 The smashery is almost unheard of for a woman of Beys age. Why are so many European countries flocking to this? Then got the Chinese doing translation covers. I haven't seen that since Say So. I couldn't ask for anything else this era. I guess Act I was too niche to the black American and gay audience. The last 5 years have been a ride! 1

The last 5 years have been a ride! You know what … Tina Turner’s 80’s comeback and accompanying albums were bigger in the European markets than in the U.S. Not saying the same for Bey, but it makes a little more sense when compared to how widely accepted Tina’s rock career was in the territory.. and in South America, too.
Golden Posted February 22 Posted February 22 Texas is a far better lead single than BMS in the sense that it's much more 'approachable' for the geepee. I do love BMS (although I still think it's on the long side and thus a bit repetitive), it was a bit too 'polarising' to be a huge hit in the way Texas Hold 'Em has that potential.
dbaby Posted February 22 Posted February 22 This is a different lane for her sonically (album-wise) via a genre with huge fanbase that has at best casually checked in with Bey. Folk/country is also really popular right now with the GP (Noah, Zach, etc.). She’s probably not releasing more singles/buzz tracks considering THE is smashing, but I think it’s safe to assume act ii has incredible first week potential!

I wasn't too sure about country smashing outside the U.S. My expectations were totally reduced. Rock is the one I expect to take off like THE is. I'm shocked tbh. 1

QueenofCopyPaste Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I reckon there's someone from TEXAS for a collab in Act II

Trent W Posted February 22 Posted February 22 THE’s success is what I wanted for Cuff It, Alien superstar or Heated But can’t complain Act 2 is more interesting for me because of the success than the content lol I don’t think Act 2 will come close to Act 1 in quality unless all the tracks are as good as 16 Carriages maybe Im biased because im not 100% into country Still I think the album is going to be huge, maybe even bigger than act 1 9

I love House, I adore Renaissance, but I still stand by what I said regarding Texas and 16C. That doesnt tell me anything about the rest of act ii, but to write act ii off just because of the genre seems premature to me, especially when the little glimpses we got with Texas and 16C indicate a stronger album. And one thing ive always said: Bey is a master of musicology. We argue about her writing contributions a lot in here, but her artistic VISION for her projects is easily the most impressive in popular music. She understands genres and music so so well, I really feel like she would have to make an effort to create a bad album Edited February 22 by Kristie Kuwa 6 1

You have to remember that she's probably gonna explore all the ins and outs of country and not just surface level. With Renaissance, she did not do just "dance" but also house, disco, bounce, ballroom, hyper-pop, synthpop etc. all the subgenres of dance. Not only that but she incorporated dance elements into R&B songs and urban-leaning songs. Fully expecting the same here 2 2
