Kristie Kuwa Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Not Bey, a BLACK woman, smashing with a PURE COUNTRY SOLO SONG 26 years into her career what a legend! 6
Kool_Aid_King Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Beyoncé finally getting a top 40 Country hit (Daddy Lessons peaked #41 )

The issue is, it's hard to tell if it's a simple case of dropping the ball or if they are pacing themselves purposefully. I'm team "get all of the hits". But, in reality and practicality, if she were to push and absolutely dominate with song after song after song from Rennie, I genuinely wonder whether it creates the perfect momentum to do the same for Act II OR creates "Beyonce fatigue". Also, from a budget perspective (because radio plugging costs a lot), it's probably more money-smart to push 1-2 singles per Act (and let streaming/virality do the heavy lifting for anything else) than to blow the budget on pushing every track with a hint of potential. TBH, very little of this would even matter if there were visuals out for the Rennie tracks in the traditional sense. That would have directly and indirectly helped their streams and created less pressure around radio leading the charge But alas, such is the reality of The Hive lol. 1
Kalmanta Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I‘m not even sure a #2 debut is realistic. BMS opened with 14M streams, 22k sales and 10.7M on Radio for a #15 debut. TH‘E has a few more hours for this tracking week, probably a lot more streams and sales, but the audience numbers are lacking until now, might probably grow to 3-4M by tomorrow when the tracking ends. A top 10 debut is in the bag though, which is already an insane achievement for her.

FSXP Posted February 14 Posted February 14 If I’m not mistaken, NZ usually picks up on pop hits quicker than other countries so I think this is a good indicator. 6

Also, Heated and Virgo's Groove, both in shorter mixes, would have been incredible singles!!

Carnival is like TEXAS HOLD 'EM challenging for #2. Harlow is unstoppable currently because of his humongous radio audience.

More importantly, it grew 8 positions on Spotify today up to #6 and had a 50% streaming increase. Super unreal to see a Country song doing so well 2
