Girl I don't know what to tell you, but for me reducing yourself to your husband's surname twice is kinda crazy, especially when you're f*cking Beyoncé (and I don't care about the actual cowboy connection because even if it turns out to be real, no one is gonna think of that when her husband is right there).

Enjoy the title all you want but stop policing people who don't.

"reducing yourself"..... It's literally her last name. Beyonce Giselle Knowles CARTER. Is her literal government name on her ID, Passport, Business Deals, Everything.

It's LITERALLY HER LAST NAME. Are yall okay?

The album title is okay. Beyoncé isn’t know for great album titles… 4, BEYONCÉ, BDAY…

I wish she had posted the album cover and a pre-order link the same day the first two singles dropped. Just after the Super Bowl commercial.

And then released the track list closer to release date.

But we have variants so I’m happy.

I feel like this is copypasta-worthy and reads like a twitter swiftie post :dies: Rodeo would have absolutely been a more consistent title while still being fun and detached from the first act

That being said I'm glad you enjoy it and I'm sure the album will be good

well I do have a history of copypasta-worthy posts but they all speak the truth so...

nothing I said was wrong.

does it sound like it suggests an alter-ego? Yes.

does it sound like she's going to have fun rather than be super serious? Yes.

does it sound like a movie character's name? Yes.

"Reducing" though? How is she reducing herself? How is using his last name which is now also half-her own a reduction of who she is, when being a wife and mother is also who she is now and her name BEYONCÉ will forever be attached right along side the album title?

If you don't care about the cowboy connection, that's fine, but Beyoncé often puts hidden meanings under the surface and it doesn't matter if people get it or not. She used a sample from a state penitentiary in Freedom to further illuminate the meaning of the song. Does anyone know? Can anyone listening to the song tell what it is? No, but that doesn't matter. It's still there, it's still baked into it.

The choice to call someone telling you to get over the title "policing" is odd, especially when you are here policing what she should or shouldn't name her album, whose surname she can/should use, etc.

i hate when album titles are announced without official artwork

and it's super rare too, they usually always come hand in hand

This way makes sense for Beyoncé who is not really the type who is going to spam her social media with pre-order reminders. This way, she can tie subsequent reminders with actual new content for people, allowing her to sustain interest and continue to promote in a way that feels organic to what's being posted.

REVOLUTION or RODEO was right there but the name isn’t as bad as you all are making out to be :suburban:

Revolution is already a pretty significant country album by Miranda  Lambert

My god, y'all still going? Like damn, go back discussing whether the picture in the Instagram story is the actual cover or something. That discussion is over.

There's a cow in Beyoncé's album title.

Whether y’all like the album title or not, it is finalized. There is nothing you can do about it. Please accept it and move on.

Why is she charging $40 for a small box?

I can send a whole pallet of freight for $200 :giraffe: is that shipping supposed to be luxurious too?

Renaissance together with that cover is her best combo of a title and a cover.

if that picture she posted with the pre-save link for Cowboy is her official cover then it’s her worst as a title-cover combo!!

And that's why Beyoncé isn't a feminist and Tina was a feminist.

What's not feminist is suggesting in a situation of cheating, a woman can only still be deemed a feminist if she leaves the man who cheated. This gives the ultimate power to men's actions, allowing that their mistakes are women's burdens that, no matter what she wants from the situation, must be dealt with in a prescribed way. Taking away a woman's right to choose for herself how she wants her life relative to something a man did is not a take that supports feminism which promotes a woman's right to make her own decisions free from the social obligations that come with being a woman.

Also you're making it seem like Beyoncé found out and shrugged it off and said "I guess that's just something that I as a woman have to be okay with." She left him. He begged for her back. He proved his commitment. She took him back. It's really that simple. She gets to decide what she wants from her life. Not you, and not fake-feminist respectability politics.

If it were the other way around, would you say that Jay-Z is anti-men because he chose to stay with his wife?

I personally like the title. It's so much better than ENLIGHTENMENT, RODEO, REVOLUTION etc and all of those basic titles the hive came up with. Revolution especially. Y'all have been trying to get her to name an album that since 4. Move on :toofunny3: For those who don't like it yet, I understand. RENAISSANCE as a title was a grower for me but now I can't imagine it with any other name :heart2:

You know what's wild? Flaunting the surname of the man that has cheated on you. Different strokes for different people I guess :michael:

how do people not realize that she hasn't released the cover? none of those look like covers. none of them have been posted on instagram. all the albums on her site are just black with text. her site even says the cover is yet to be revealed. and Beyoncé is not the type of person to release five different covers simultaneously. like what's not clicking?
