Mariah4life Posted April 7 Posted April 7 Idk if this was obvious to everyone but notice the change up of words between the ending of American Requiem and Amen American Requiem Quote Goodbye to what has been A pretty house that we never settled in A funeral for fair-weather friends I am the one to cleanse me of my Father's sins American Requiem Them big ideas (Yeah) are buried here (Yeah) Amen Amen Quote Say a prayer for what has been We'll be the ones to purify our Fathers' sins American Requiem Them old ideas (Yeah) are buried here (Yeah) Amen (Amen) American Requiem is her coming to term with what she's been through of not being accepted and she's calling those ideas their "big ideas" and letting go of them. In Amen, it is her hopeful for the future and praying that it would not happen again and now calling those ideas "old" after she took you through the journey of the album by bending genres and letting us understand that we shouldn't confine ourselves to genres and the old idea that Black singers cannot be country. 11

Imagine having six top tens hits from this album. It is extremely important to have multiple hits in order for the album perform really well in a really long time. (REN is at 2M daily, imagine CC at 5M daily or more). And just look at Doja having multiple 1B streams songs from Planet Her. Hmm yeah but Doja is practically a new artist with the thirst of having hits .. The Queen is been around for so long she is done with pushing promoting single after single . We are lucky we are still getting so much music and this quality 5
shark_heather Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I have 1 HUGE problem with this album I cannot focus on 1-2 songs I just listen to all of them and they are so many 1
shark_heather Posted April 7 Posted April 7 I dont want to compare Renaissance with CC , 1st bc Renaissance is my fav album ever , 2nd cause CC needs to pass the test of the time and 3rd cause they are completely different But i can say that these 2 albums are probably on my top5 best albums ever existed . Mother did that 👏 1 1
qurl Posted April 7 Posted April 7 i appreciate Daughter for what she did vocally but it's not a song i'll find myself retuning to often , and i unfortunately feel that way about songs like My Rose, Flamenco and even Desert Eagle to an extent … like low key it bothers me that Desert Eagle is only a minute long and is after another interlude that's also a minute long ….. plus Desert Eagle is good enough to warrant at minimum 2:30 …. i would definitely return to it a lot more if that were the case actually i kinda take that back bc it transitions so well into riverdance and that stretch of the album is just immaculate , and in that sense Oh Louisiana is lucky it flows so well after YA YA …. but ya , my one big problem with the album is that , although impressive , there's more than a couple tracks im probably never going to just turn on randomly bc they're too short and don't really go anywhere … spaghetti, flamenco, desert eagle, my rose …. they should have been ghost/haunted type situations i say all of this as someone who considers this a 9.5/10 project 1

Virgos Groove Posted April 7 Posted April 7 (edited) Tyrant is almost a greatest hit song (complimentary). The beat is cut from the same cloth as Thique, the harmonies on the chorus are giving Black Parade, the bridge is following the Lemonade-print... a true masterpiece. Edited April 7 by Virgos Groove 3

Also, she actually did those numbers with 15 songs, not 16. My bad. So she's really pulling away from him on that platform, but it'll be a test to see how stable he remains on Apple Music. 1

Kristie Kuwa Posted April 7 Posted April 7 The more we're approaching summer, the more I feel they should push Bodyguard hard. It has all the ingredients to be a staple on radio and also being a song that the straights will enjoy
