that IS an interesting thing to note!!!

maybe dolly improvised the line and bey ended up liking it so much that she decided to change the name?

honestly if that's the case then thank you dolly cause BEYINCÉ is... a choice. :giraffe:

dolly's introduction to tyrant hits so good like

it gets you HYPED :duca:

Why does her voice sound like that tho is that the « country » accent? (I'm not from the USA so I don't know)

yes, same accent all the legends in the interludes had

although maybe dolly sounds different because her voice is a lot softer and pitched up, so it's a bit more pronounced

lol that would be iconic if that was given by Dolly, but somehow I doubt Dolly would think of that vs. Beyoncé herself who has used the Ms. Carter/Mrs. Carter a lot.

I agree BEYINCÉ would be a "choice" but also I kinda love it, how it feels wrong and that's kind of the point...it's wrong but it's actually RIGHT. very much a clever reclaiming of a name in the way she's reclaiming genre too. However, COWBOY CARTER absolutely was the right decision. And though I haven't listened to ALL the changes between physical and digital versions, it does seem that she made the right decision there too, like the changes to songs that exist on both versions are clearly better in the streaming edition, which I love to see...love to see her editing prowess is correct.

Dolly's voice always has that bubbly, twang.

Yeah the other guy who says « you know my name no need to know yours » has a strong accent as well.

another question sorry : because of what he says « you know my name no need to know yours », would an American recognize that voice straight away? Like he's famous in the country ? As he's not saying « I'm …. » like Dolly P is sayin in her interlude so I was like damn is his voice that recognizable for any American!?

i'd say he's very recognizable within the country community and older listeners, but also maybe because his name was plastered over the song title?

also, he was doing some sort of radio host-character, same with Linda, while dolly was simply being dolly

I think also his first interlude being introduced with the sounds of lighting a cigar/blunt also gives a clue to who it is (if you hadn't read his name).

the interludes get me SO hype though, each of them did their thing in different ways: Willie being unbothered and "cool"; Linda teaching us things; and Dolly being like a sincere neighbour...they really DID that.

Watch how she includes the standard cover vinyl only in the boxset of the three acts that she'll sell for $500.
