blaggot Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I've listened enough now to do a ranking overall top three: S★H★B - the ****ing pinnacle of what my mind heard when people said "Beyoncé country album". amazing genre bending YA YA - tina, tina, tina. loved this one fromt he first listen and even more after unpacking the lyrics and storytelling TYRANT - the double entendre throughout the song is heartbreaking but what a banger kuntry top three: DAUGHTER - amazing chord progressions and instruments to set the stage, then the ****ing opera? I was floored b*tch II MOST WANTED - an undeniable classic record, and pleasantly surprising how well their voices fit together 16 CARRIAGES - I preferred this one over TH'E when they released and love it more within the album AMERIICAN REQUIEM - 5/5 BLACKBIIRD - 3/5 16 CARRIAGES - 5/5 PROTECTOR - 5/5 MY ROSE - 4/5 TEXAS HOLD'EM - 3/5 BODYGUARD - 5/5 JOLENE - 5/5 DAUGHTER - 5/5 SPAGHETTII - 5/5 ALLIIGATOR TEARS - 3/5 JUST FOR FUN - 4/5 II MOST WANTED - 5/5 LEVII'S JEANS - 3/5 FLAMENCO - 3/5 YA YA - 5/5 OH LOUISIANA - 3/5 DESERT EAGLE - 4/5 RIIVERDANCE - 5/5 TYRANT - 5/5 SWEET★HONEY★BUCKIIN' - 6/5 AMEN - 5/5

All though I'd love Body guard and Yaya to have a moment too but asking for that many singles is being greedy lol Exactly that for me too. Having said that she will prob push Jolene as the next single
darkfantasy Posted April 2 Posted April 2 2 Hands 2 Heaven is one of her best songs ever. Something about it is so moving and meditative. That + American Requiem + Sweet Honey Buckin are my 3 faves right now. The melody in Sweet >> 3
Brikenbur Posted April 2 Posted April 2 The Guardian gave COWBOY CARTER and RENAISSANCE both 4/5 and Midnights 5/5 stars, can they be trusted? 1

American Requeim gives me Bohemian Rhapsody , Rolling Stones Rock n roll , and rap all in one. The genre melding >. Lyrically, it's like a continuation of Formation: Beyonce saying she is country and proud . II Hands II Heaven is just such a beautiful ethereal song . Reminds me of a song that would fit on Self titled .: Contemplative, Melancholy , but upbeat and hopeful.. Sweet Honey Buckin is just incredible. 1
Nippy'sReceipts Posted April 2 Posted April 2 I just listened to Suga Mama and damn that song would fit perfectly on Cowboy Carter and so would Resentment . Very country! 1
