Has anyone caught on to the obvious multiple nods to some sort of substance abuse on this album? I haven't seen it discussed, it's subtle and tastefully addressed in both Flamenco and Just For Fun.

She did the Brits and Grammys like a month after self titled was released….

 

it does get annoying thought hearing people scream "she needs to promote, a quick performance on SNL will do the trick!”

Either or both, I did notice sometimes she issued a cry for help from God multiple times. I dont think she's referring directly to herself, but the general idea.

I'm not sure she wont perform music from this album.

Renaissance she had an injury, and then she was on tour non stop.   During the beginning of the ERA she was especially healing.  It may not been about being "over" live performances, but more about not being able to give what she wanted to give.

 

Who knows if that will be the case for this

Someone pointed out how on REN there were multiple references to drug abuse. At this point it doesn't seem by accident. I wonder if that was The Dream was referencing when he said "I cant wait for her to tell y'all the story of she got here"

am i the only who doesn't think CC is a better produced album than Ren ? cause a lot of people keep saying that…

 

to me Ren was designed to be perfect. from the instrumental choices to the samples and transitions that album is a productional MARVEL.

CC feels a lot more free spirited, earthy and a little messy (in a good way) which fits the genres and themes perfectly. 

 

an argument could be made for CC obliterating in the vocals and harmonies department tho… but then you also have VG

Im sorry, but the contrast of both songs puts her EASILY on par with the Vocal Trinity. That is what we call RANGE. Dont u EVER try to come for Beys singing chops. Shes FAR ahead of any of ur favs in terms of versatility, technique, ability and craftsmanship

Exactly.

 

We all went through this with the "Renaissance" era already...lets not get amnesia about it. There's no performance, video, or any further promo coming and only 1 other single will be released. The album will do what it's going to do on its own.

 

Her iHeartRadio appearance will just be the Brit Awards moment of this era.
