Da Vinci Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I really prefer the alternate covers for both albums for some reason 3
Blue Rose Posted April 1 Posted April 1 If you had to switch up 16C for another song as a co-lead, which one would you have picked?
dinorhino Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I just finished listening to this album and there's no way there are only two good songs on it (Bodyguard and Most Wanted) 1

It was honestly the perfect single choice because it was one of the most traditionally sounding country songs (and really set the up era nicely with Texas). 3
Rocket Posted April 1 Posted April 1 (edited) The smack in the face that is RIIVERDANCE / II HANDS TO HEAVEN / TYRANT / SWEET HONEY BUCKIIN Edited April 1 by Rocket 3
simon Posted April 1 Posted April 1 When I first heard this album - it felt very melting pot - but as I listen this is truly a COUNTRY album (set in the idea of "Outlaw/Rural" country where the sub-genre is based on your ancestral history and geographical area. There is R&B, Soft-Rock, gospel, Italian, Spanish, Irish influences, etc - but at the core, those in the rural south with these backgrounds still have a universal similarity rooted in their country experiences, and she used storytelling to define that. She really has redefined country. Sorry for using a lot of repeated words - but I hope this makes sense. 10

I will go so far as to say this may be my favorite musical stretch on any album I've ever heard. I honestly feel like I am on the ground and end up flying, I always cry on 2 Hands 2 Heaven, dry my tears and become a Tyrant just in time to stomp for the Sweet finish. This is the best album run of all time. 3

I LOVE Bodyguard (but although it is a country record) - critics would have said it was soft-rock. 16 & Texas are very rooted in traditional country (where as the album redefines country and explores the genre).

Attaboy Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Raphael Saadiq being the SOLE producer on Bodyguard is pretty wild. The only one Bey doesn't have a credit 3

Weld_E Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I think Ya Ya was intended to be the album opener at some point. From the spoken introduction where she says "We Want To Welcome You To the Beyoncé, Cowboy Carter: Act II", to how slowly the song builds up, to the B E Y I N C E chant (alternative cover edition), to the strong American themes throughout. 2

I find it hard to believe it went from being considered as the opening track to not even being included on the standard vinyl. 1
