Beyoncé - 'COWBOY CARTER'

Recommended Posts

I took a few days and few listens to fully digest this album. What a masterpiece Cowboy Carter is. The storytelling, the vocals, the production is so rich and stellar! I don't know how this lady keeps outdoing herself since ST, when I first heard she was doing country music for this album I was first deflated but TEXAS (which was the right lead) left me intrigued.

Roll to now, and it is clear that Bey only used country music as a base and an inspiration and we got was an excellent eclectic set of tracks. I love it when Beyoncé goes all experimental and so with that my favourite tracks right now are; Tyrant, Sweet Honey Buckin, Spaghettii, Protector, Ya Ya and Levii's Jeans.

Miley got a producer, composer and writing credit on II MOST WANTED omg 🤯

Aww where are all the people who cried because Miley was not a "real artist" ??

:ryan3:

Let this be another lesson. Dont play with Bey's choices or Miley's talents.

American Requiem is a masterpiece. There is soooo much black music history packed into this one song. She's such a music history nerd....I love it!!!

If this album is really turned into a Cowboy Western film - "Buckin" is DEFINITELY the climax! This project is so cinematic!

We don't like him anymore. He dragged Meg about the shooting and I've noticed he's changed after meeting bey. His reactions are so fake and forced. We are waiting for the hot son and father duo + Juke Jams

Does anyone know what that instrument in the back of Jolene is? Is it a harmonica? It gives the song a haunting feeling that I love

Don't know if I'm late to the conversation but did anyone else notice that BLACKBIIRD, SWEET HONEY BUCKIIN and AMEN all end with the same noise/special effect? It's like a bell.

Wonder if that means something? :sherlock:

HONEY was probably one song and she split it and mixed with other tracks. both have "stuck in" lyrics

I was kind of irritated when listening to it first and thinking "this ***** can't complete a damn Honey song"

Hopefully there's another Honey song on act III and they all tie in together

The credits are so confusing. I'm going to spend time going through them and try and to pick out the writing teams. It seems like there was a core of activity with 5-6 writers and producers

I respect her for not wasting all the stock of BEYINCÉ vinyls. It's clear that the vinyl pressing is a different version of the album than it's current form. Hopefully she will eventually put out the complete version of COWBOY CARTER. Also makes me wonder if YA YA was maybe for Act III originally.

Exactly. It's the environmentally friendly thing to do. Could you imagine the bad publicity if she was found to be throwing all of those printed vinyls and packaging in the garbage just because she wanted to make some artistic changes? The backlash would be a lot worse than it is atm for the missing tracks.

I did not expect The Dream to be so heavily involved again.

His Ciara productions was never this evolved. B really knows how to push people.

Beyonce didn't credit herself on Jolene. I applaud that

She should have. Because this just adds to the theory that you can Do What U Want™ with credits.

What's the source for that list anyway?
