Popular Post abeille Posted March 31 Popular Post Posted March 31 Breaking my ATRL hiatus to say that literally everything about this album is sublime — the vocals, the songwriting, the storytelling, the production, the concept, the message, the VOCALS… also, I know people didn't love the messaging behind her Jolene rendition, and I get that, but in the context of the album, which draws heavily from outlaw country in parts, it actually doesn't come across as super serious at at all. Between the groundbreaking success and the acclaim, this has to be one of the most unprecedented runs in music history. So glad to have stanned this woman for as long as I can remember. This is the finest work in her groundbreaking 27 year long career — a culmination of all her artistry —and deserves all the accolades it can possibly get. 19 3
Virgos Groove Posted March 31 Posted March 31 When she mixes Alligator Tears with this classic on tour...
Burn Posted March 31 Posted March 31 This ain't Calabasas We don't need highways We can take backroads Never been riding baby? Step in that stirrup Hop on my saddle
abeille Posted March 31 Posted March 31 II HANDS II HEAVEN might be the best song she's ever recorded. 7

Miley would have sounded way too loud imo if they put her vocals on the same level as Bey's because of that "country" thing in her voice Okay good to see i'm not the only one! Yeah maybe that's why they lowered Miley's voice, i get what you mean
parvatishallow Posted March 31 Posted March 31 (edited) I simply can't believe that the second half of this album exists. The entire album is immaculate but the run starting with Just For Fun is godlike. Edited March 31 by parvatishallow 2

Burqa Posted March 31 Posted March 31 i still wish the album was called REQUIIEM cowboy carter is only iconic because it's beyonce and it was gonna be iconic regardless of how good of a title it was (see: lemonade) 2
Lose My Breath Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I'm going to listen to the vinyl tomorrow.. I wonder if I'll like the flow a bit better from Daughter to Alligator Tears minus spaghetti. Seems like it'll work better Not excited that Flamenco, and Ya Ya are absent
Elusive Chanteuse Posted March 31 Posted March 31 The opera part of daughter is taking me out this tonight. SO good 4
Johnnyboi Posted March 31 Posted March 31 I love Blackbird for all the reason people said but I love it so much for invoking the Trios albums by Dolly, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris. 1
