State of Grace. Posted March 12 Posted March 12 The title is so ******* horrible, ugh. We were robbed of RENAISSANCE --> RODEO. At least the music is good so far.

I mean it’s not a bad thing, but just curious Well it's not the first time she used Carter as an alter-ego, she did it with The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour which coincided with her release of Bow Down where she said "I'm not his little wife" which seemed to situate her married named as just part of who she is, meaning BEYONCÉ can be married and with kids and still put on this grand show all her own. King B was used imo in a feminist way, acknowledging that in the monarchical system, a King is always going to be of a higher placement than a Queen. That is why Prince Phillip was never King Phillip, it would have taken away from Queen Elizabeth being the highest person in the system. So her saying "King B" at a time when people were calling her Queen B was a declaration that beyond gender she's that girl. In this case, I think Cowboy Carter just has a nice ring to it, and again is her playing with an alter-ego a bit... Cowboy Knowles is too on the nose, for example. Edited March 12 by swissman 1

Bears01 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Yeah, I don’t care about her personal life and her using her husbands name. That’s their business. The title just sucks. But she’ll deliver in quality like she always does.
J-esper Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I only just noticed there also were boxsets, ofcourse I missed out on one of those, but oh well glad to get all 4 CD covers and the white vinyl. In a perfect world with unlimited funds, I would have it all 1
swissman Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I really love the name. It's surprising and succinct and playful. As usual fans (and others) convince themselves that they know what she should do and will do and then get sold on ideas for titles that are only based on repeating what she's already done...which if we are really fans, we should know she doesn't really tend to do that. 1 1
Hector Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I'll say this... her most unexpected album title EVER (even more than I Am... Sasha Fierce). 1
QueenBLadyG Posted March 12 Posted March 12 The title will go down as one of her most audacious and successful to date. Watch. 6
99sandthe2000s Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I don't even wanna discuss the amount of money I just gave to Beyonce I just know my contribution is going towards a few new dolls for Rumi 3 7
swissman Posted March 12 Posted March 12 wait remember in act i when we all thought the black cover was the actual cover and were so worried lolol
motomami Posted March 12 Posted March 12 The meltdowns over a title as if this woman hasn't been in the creative front seat for the past god knows how long. You just have to laugh! 6
toast Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Rodeo would've been too obvious, you know she loves to come out of left field Got the black vinyl as a political statement 2
crf13 Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Horrible album title and cover ugh… How do you serve so hard on the single cover (Texas Hold ‘Em) and then give us this for the album cover???
