ElectricBlue Posted March 29 Posted March 29 i also can't put into words what i felt when i realised beyonce covering the beatles and having 4 young female country singers on blackbird was her way of helping them out and sort of "giving them permission" or passing the torch, like she's not only acknowledging and paying tribute to the ogs but she's helping redefine the genre with a new generation, not to talk about the meaning of the song like.... couldn't be a stronger message i love her so much 4
TayDuaStan Posted March 29 Posted March 29 So when will the credits be revealed? I need to know if Taylor is the one who sings the bgv in bodyguard 1

I will grab Texas Hold Em and the Miley duet and run. Poor Dolly, she deserved much better than this crap version of Jolene. Baby Beyonce has been singing about guns her whole career, like... shes's from Texas. 1

BnPac Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Rumi's song kind of runs circles around Blue's song. Just saying. 1
Solaria Posted March 29 Posted March 29 This album is like a more mature extension of Lemonade almost. It's much darker but also light at the same time 1
IBeMe Posted March 29 Posted March 29 This is a career defining record. A literal triumph. I hope this does well commercially. It literally deserves a 500k+ opening (obviously numbers aren't everything but this is just TOO GOOD of a record imo). 2

That's why I am afraid it's tugging Lem's wig a bit in my ranking right now. Edited March 29 by BnPac 1

The Next Day Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Blackbird is essential. You don't have to like it musically, but it was written for the Black civil rights movement as encouragement to take back what's ought to be theirs. Putting this in the beginning gives the album a lot of credibility. 5 2

RaFanatic Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Naah, this ain't it. I appreciate what she wanted to do, but it just doesn't work. There are some very nice moments, but they are gone too fast. 3 3

Matangi Posted March 29 Posted March 29 BODYGUARD alone...this is obviously her most CLASSIC and experimental record of her entire career. It will stood the test of time and be timeless, just like the first Act. And I'm still not even through my first full listen as I only listened to the AM previews yesterday.
