Princess Aurora Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Just listened to the full album and wow. This is her Ray of Light in my opinion I loved all the tracks, especially the features. Well done, Beyoncé. The way some AI Covers from last year predicted the album's sound
RadioactiveLights Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Amazing project. I already can't wait for Act II. This is what it felt like after watching Infinity War and waiting for Endgame to come out 1
Kristie Kuwa Posted March 29 Posted March 29 People need to take their time with CC. As someone whos on their 2nd listen, it already feels way different 2nd go around. Its sonically SO different from any other Bey album and especially Renaissance, it would be foolish to assume every song and sound would feel like its great right away. Bey is a master of music and album curation. The album is perfect if u get the vision and intention. Im on my second listen and some of the tracks I felt were filler are making so much sense now. 2

bwhansen Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Relistening this morning and I kinda hope Tina got to listen to YA YA back then because this is 100% Bey's Nutbush City Limits. 2

BnPac Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Sweet honey Bucking is it! Buck it, buck it, like a mechanical bull Look at that horse. Just how big is Jay

BnPac Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Yes tbh Renaissance punched me way harder on the first listen. Like I AM THAT GIRL seized my soul!
Hephaestus Posted March 29 Posted March 29 btw TH'E was 100% the right choice for a lead single because it's still in the top 5 of the album for me. Such a great song
storminthedark Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) It's more mellow than I expected, it definitely has a darker tone than most of her albums. I can see why she changed to release Renaissance first for where people were at coming of the pandemic, I think releasing this first would've changed the reception to the Acts. Saying that, the album is a little bloated. The Blackbird and Jolene covers didn't need to be here on the main tracklist. I actually don't mind interludes as part of the world building for an album, I really like the Willie interludes, but I think this will suffer from the same problem for causal listeners that Dawn FM did. It disrupts the listening experience if you don't want to sit down and consume it as a full body of work every time. Bodyguard, 16 Carriages, American Requiem, YA YA and Levi's Jeans are the standouts for me on first listen. I don't think I can rate it because it's so dense but I kinda wish she'd trimmed the fat a little more. 27 songs (19 without the interlude) is a long album. Edited March 29 by storminthedark
Cain Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I think just because of the type of music I will definitely go back to Renaissance more, but this is still incredible But Rennie is just THAT girl

Velvet Night Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Wow, just finished my first listen and every bit of this album is perfect! I had chills listening to the whole thing, I'm actually speechless rn. It's definitely her best album to date!
Kern Posted March 29 Posted March 29 it's an album that will surely serve longevity and different songs will grow overtime I'm still overwhelemed by its majesty but in a good way
Mr.X Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Meh... this is trash, sorry. She really went from 'gay rights' to 'gun rights' hey?... I will grab Texas Hold Em and the Miley duet and run. Poor Dolly, she deserved much better than this crap version of Jolene. 2 11
