Kiss It Better Posted February 29 Posted February 29 do yall think we're getting the title and cover today? she announced renaissance's cover exactly a month before the album so i suppose she's gonna stick to that as for the title i'm gonna be different and say it's titled "Recount" - continues the "Re-" pattern - the word means "an act or instance of giving an account of an event or experience." which is what she's doing with both singles, telling a story - it's a play with the word "COUNTry"

I am very curious to see title, cover and tracklist. And yeah, I agree that I feel like the Re- prefix will be recurrent for the three acts.

Migs30283 Posted February 29 Posted February 29 (edited) If the act 2 album name starts with re, there will be a AOTY Grammys curse like Renaissance and Red (Taylor's 4th album) being robbed of winning AOTY at the Grammys. Edited February 29 by Migs30283
Draper. Posted February 29 Posted February 29 I’d rather it be something on the nose about its theme (Rodeo or similar), than on what its trying to “accomplish” (Redemption, Recount). That’s another level of tackiness. 3

We wont get the tracklist until like 2 days before, I can tell u as much. Revealing the tracklist is basically inviting leaks, and Bey HATES that

That’s another level of tackiness. MTE! Rodeo for the win. I keep seeing Redemption, Revolution, and even Reconstruction (which may be the worst title known to mankind). Like, wtf lol. A title is a title, so "right" is always open to interpretation, but I definitely think there are wrong routes (like that Reconstruction lol. Too many syllables, too declarative, and presents as seeing itself as too important).
Cbreezy Posted February 29 Posted February 29 I can see today being CR Fashion Book focussed, hopefully with a morsel (or more) of music tea in the (presumed) interview. She smartly tends to take a one-thing-at-a-time approach with her socials, so I doubt she'd flood her IG with pics from the shoot and then an album cover at the same time. One or both will get lost in the shuffle doing that. IMO, it's starting to look more and more like it's: * CR Fashion Book today * Album Cover, Title, and Pre-Order on March 1st I'd gladly take all now, but the today-tomorrow 1-2 punch makes the most sense I think.

Hephaestus Posted February 29 Posted February 29 She better drop the title and cover today, I need to know how pretty it'll fit next to my Renaissance vinyl!
knewbetterpt2 Posted February 29 Posted February 29 Rodeo would be too tacky for a Beyoncé album title imo, too on the nose for her. Revolution, Reconstruction and Redemption are all perfect titles for the statement she’s making by reclaiming genres her culture originated. She’s redefining and reconstructing the country genre for poc so “Rodeo” would just come off as immature cosplay imo. 1

RODEO is just perfect for act ii REVOULUTION makes sense for the rock act because of the Prince and the Revolution and with her becoming the new animal, finishing the circle, making a statement for changing the game with the trilogy again. but even that sounds like she's too full of herself. 2 1
knewbetterpt2 Posted February 29 Posted February 29 So she shouldn’t name it Reconstruction because it’s too difficult for some to pronounce? Got it! Idk “Rodeo” just sounds childish imo, it sounds like a debut country album title from a twink that was raised in LA trying to make Nashville their new personality, strikes me as too obvious and on the nose.
Burn Posted February 29 Posted February 29 (edited) I think it will be: act i RENAISSANCE act ii RODEO act iii REVOLUTION Then when she releases all 3 albums together in a package titled RECLAMATION to symbolise how she reclaimed the 3 genres. Edited February 29 by Burn 2

Idk “Rodeo” just sounds childish imo, it sounds like a debut country album title from a twink that was raised in LA trying to make Nashville their new personality, strikes me as too obvious and on the nose. but RODEO has much to do with her personality, and makes sense. if RODEO is childish, what is LEMONADE? some titles make sense, and she knows that. and sometimes obvious things work. she named her album BEYONCE and it really worked. she also has album titles like 4 and B'Day. RODEO is just perfect and yes, when you're giving a title to your work, you should pay attention to the structure of the words. reconstruction is, aside from being dumb and pretentious and having no meaning, hard to pronounce. she has to think about people in the media saying it out loud, it has to sound nicely and stick with you when you hear it 1

knewbetterpt2 Posted February 29 Posted February 29 5 minutes ago, Jon Snow said: is that what reconstruction means? rebuilding something that has been broken? well yes! there was also a hint at Reconstruction potentially being the title in her essence article but I digress Ms. Tina’s parents were Louisiana natives, a fact Beyoncé declares with pride. As the singer’s grandmother, Agnéz Deréon, was coming up, an innovative entrepreneur, also from Louisiana, was becoming a pivotal presence in Black history. Madam C.J. Walker is regarded as the first woman to become a millionaire by her own means. Her cause was righteous. In the aftermath of the Reconstruction era, and with the introduction of Jim Crow, Black Americans continued to be socially and economically trampled, leaving many without the tools to effectively care for their hair. 1
