mickeyderon Posted February 26 Posted February 26 For me Renaissance is the album of her career and I want to love the first two singles (trust me I've tried) but I'm getting nothing. I'm hoping somehow I end up loving the album... 1

knewbetterpt2 Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Rodeo is too obvious and on the nose of a title imo, Revolution or Reconstruction would make great titles since she’s reclaiming the genre.

Bey'Knight Posted February 26 Posted February 26 I want her to announce act ii’s title so this tired discourse can end tbh. We are going to have to get on board regardless 3

I'm hoping somehow I end up loving the album... you know what, even though i really actually love the two singles cause I have a really soft spot for country-pop, I think your opinion is valid and also somewhat part of the three act project. i genuinely believe they are supposed to speak and pander to different demographics each, so renaissance being her magnum opus for you is probably intentional, just as much as maybe someone feel that way about act 2 or 3, potentially speaking 1

I'm hoping somehow I end up loving the album... I think it's OK. Some genres or songs are just not for everyone. It's OK if this is not for you, you might find a song or two you like in the album and if not, you can just sit this one out and wait for the end of the era or the trilogy. I do hope you get to connect with at least a song from the album, an era is definitely more fun when the music talks to us.

Cbreezy Posted February 26 Posted February 26 Chart followers, how many total streams would Bey need with Act II for performance to be considered: good or even better exceptional? Texas Hold Em has been one of my first times following the whole Spotify thing and still learning how it all works, especially in an album context. Bey has always been a strong pure sales seller, but with Renaissance debuting well with streaming and her now smashing with Texas Hold Em, I'm curious to see if she could really smash THANKS to streaming with first-week sales (rather than it being a cute buffer to boost sales). For context, Renaissance's 332k total is segmented as such: Pure Sales: 190,000 Streaming Sales: 138,000 Track Equivalent Sales: 4000
V$. Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Someone had mentioned the RDR soundtrack in some thread... This SLAPS!
R.E.M. Posted February 28 Posted February 28 not to be bootlicker hive but I trust that if pre-orders aren't up yet, it's 100% intentional. maybe we're getting a new cover variant/bundle every week leading up to album release
Hustler Posted February 28 Posted February 28 I think the title will be “Revolution”. There’s that insider on Twitter (who is proving to be particularly precise with the info) who suggested the album title relates to a very important historic moment for France. But that could also have no back-up info. The thing that gets me most, though, is “My House”. When she says “Renaissance to revolution”. I got more convinced about this when she also used the song for the Verizon commercial. It seems to be a bridging track between the records (outro is also acapella, with no sound … so no transition), and she chose to use that for a commercial which announces the new drops for act II. I know people were already speculating back then when My House dropped … but this to me seems more than a coincidence (also because yeah, black woman reclaiming Country. That’s a revolution to me - and so well deserved)! 1
