BoDaToe Posted February 14 Posted February 14 (edited) If she’s trying to reclaim country music as black music then she needs to not have any white country stars on this album. Love Dolly, the chicks, Reba, Miranda and Kacey but really don’t need them on this project. There are so many black country, folk and Americana artists she could have on this project. Yola, Brittney Spencer, Allison Russell, Joy Oladokun, War and Treaty, Mickey Guyton, Jimmy Allen, Tony Evans Jr., Darius Rucker, Willie Jones, BRELAND, Kären McCormick, Miko Marks, the list goes on. Also, Chris Stapelton is one of the biggest appropriators of blackness in country music. We don’t need his white washed pseudo soul on this project. Edit: there’s rumors of an Orville Peck collab and even though that would be great for the gays, again I think having white country artists on this project would not help make the statement she seems to be trying to make. Having a token white gay on the project would kind of play into that narrative gay men try to perpetuate that we’ve experienced similar adversity to black women so it would be corny. QueenBLadyG Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Taylor Gaga Chris Stapleton Kacey All would be perfect in the world
YR. Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Dolly is not happening since she’s covering Jolene. Idk about Taylor anymore since the albums are coming three weeks apart
YR. Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Enlightenment is the perfect album name for this era base on the singles alone. It’s personal **** 2
YR. Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Also Bey would not be dense and release an album called revolution tbh 1

Jon Snow Posted February 14 Posted February 14 7 hours ago, PartyFavor said: I don't think it is going to be Rodeo or Enlightenment. My guess is if Renaissance was about reinvigoration and finding this new version of herself, this album will be about reclaiming her story, and the country genre. I am excited, I think the title and cover are going to be very surprising but still feel cohesive to the 3 part project. and her story is about her growing up and being happy at the Houston rodeo. she's taking that moment of happiness from her past and making it real again in the present. it's a kind of a renaissance itself. just like there was a renaissance of african-american dance music with act i, there will be a renaissance of rodeo culture and her youth with act ii. it makes sense that way and it's connected to country genre and american south 7 hours ago, Pendulum said: Renaissance: going BACKWARDS Rodeo: going IN CIRCLES Revolution: going FORWARD i really like this take. i was team RODEO since the first act came out and team REVOLUTION since MY HOUSE, but this makes me believe even more. and all three start with an R we may be wrong, but right now everything is pointing this way

Automatic Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I would love if Gary Clark Jr did some guitar work on this album. He's so talented & he's a black blues artist from Texas. Plus, Bey seems to be a fan & they have a little history - the Stevie tribute they did together 4 2

Megan Thee Stallion - Houston, Texas like Beyonce and it would be a up-tempo or mid-tempo country / hip-hop jam that's wild and crazy 2. Dolly Parton 3. Taylor Swift 4. Lil Nas X 5. Kacey Musgraves 6. Nelly 7. Miley Cyrus 8. Shania Twain I'd say 3 of those 8 it'd be a collapse if she collab again with The Chicks for the second time. They're the rebels of country music, that's gonna be the legend moment in this Act, along with either Dolly or Reba...

YR. Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Beyoncé STUDIES music. Her interest in her craft is unmatched - there is no comparison to any artist dead or alive. The greatest to ever do it 9 1
RadioactiveLights Posted February 14 Posted February 14 If we want to keep with the "R" titles, we can have Reason, which is another term for the Age of Enlightenment. Act III can be called Romantic aka Romanticism (Revolution fits more, but the discourse will be insufferable ).
PoisonPill Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Really hoping she’ll collaborate with a queer country artist like Orville Peck, who is brilliant but gets paid dust by the country world. 2
justin. Posted February 14 Posted February 14 When we guess hundreds of "R" names, and she ends up calling it HOUSTON. 1
Navyboy20 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Yall its not going to be Rodeo, Reason, Enlightenment () any other title. Renaissance: Act II It's the only title that really works. People are already used to calling it that and the Renaissance of Black Country Music is a brilliant concept that's already taking to gain traction in some the reviews I've read. 1 8
Navyboy20 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Also it helps explain why she kept saying "The Renaissance isn't over".... Because there are two more Acts of Renaissance coming
ultraviolence.xx Posted February 14 Posted February 14 she wouldn't call three albums the same thing 3 4
Popular Post TrashMagiq Posted February 14 Popular Post Posted February 14 It's always been "Act 1: Renaissance", never "Renaissance: Act 1" and nowhere has act 2 been called "Renaissance: Act 2" or even "Act 2: Renaissance" like act 1 was so idk why people still think she's keeping the Renaissance title for all 3 albums, she's obviously not. It's like when people were saying the tour and movie were act 2 and 3 when from the very start she has clearly said that this is a 3 act project made in the span of 3 years during the pandemic, making it very clear that this has always been about 3 albums. 13 4
DR0GO Posted February 14 Posted February 14 There’s absolutely no way the album will be called Renaissance: Act 2.
